    The Forgotten King Wilfred Benitez

    Why isn’t Wilfred coronated?

He faced most of the kings: taught Duran something about boxing, pushed Leonard to the limit [Sugar’s own words], and loss a competitive fight vs Hearns

A modern group would be Morales Marquez manny and Barrera. Morales and Marquez didn’t meet but are apart of the group

    Drugs.

Lost to Leonard, Hearns, Hamsho, and others.

    Burned out quickly.

He's almost like a Tyson, Bowe type figure where we talk about how great they should've been because their primes were short as fxck.

There was a post here about Mayweather vs the Four Kings. The first thing I thought of was how about Benitez. Benitez was a great fighter. Did himself in with his life style. His father's brutal training methods didn't help either.

Be a good very technical fight.

Benitez was great , another guy I feel is kinda lost in all this similar to Wilfred is Hector Camacho he fought every one.

Yeah Camacho was another guy. For some reason when he was fighting I took a dislike to him. Scratching my head now as to why..

"El Radar" now he was a great fighter; The youngest world champion in boxing history. I just can't understand how he is hardly ever mentioned among the classic four.

That's a very interesting observation because after all, Hector Camacho did defeat Roberto Duran and Sugar Ray Leonard.

Hector fought everybody and was competitive right up to MW, he was extremely talented with great reflexes, he just lacked the raw power that fans like, there are guys that were fantastic boxers that had no power against the top guys and that is all that put a wall in front of their careers.

Yeah Hector is like Wilfred in being a forgotten great.

Both were in their 40's when he beat them and Leonard hadn't fought in six years when he fought Camacho. He's not going to get credit for beating them at their best.
