Why do you guys always conveniently exclude the 70s from these statements? Ali, Frazier, and Foreman could not compete today.

BS they couldnt, prime Foreman would run through them and prime Ali would run around them and Frazier was a HW Manny Pac, they were true greats and all could compete today no problems at all, their styles are still in the game, the pre 1940s style are no longer in the game.

Not a single HW champ today could fight a rumble in jungle championship fight, that was 15 rounds of hell, at that pace in that heat this lot today would fold by 10.

This is comparing apples to oranges. Those guys would find a home in a weight division that suits them.

Benny Leonard will still beat most of nowadays fighters and will be one of the top guys even P4P IMO.

As for Dempsey etc, they will not be Heavyweights by today's standards, not even Rocky Marciano will be a heavyweight today, he fought Joe Louis at a weight of 184Lbs.

Another thread exposing the site’s lack of respect for the sport and a lack of respect for the guys who set the foundation and pioneered it to what it is today.

Dont confuse respect with fault finding nobody is infallible, one is hype and reputation based the other is logic based, both meet at truth.

Maybe you didn’t understand what I said so let me repeat.

This is a childish silly troll discussion. You have to be an idiot to look at fighters from over 100 years ago and judge them on standards of today. Only people with no respect for the sport or the fighters themselves would even take this thread seriously.

The heavyweights just wouldn’t fight in the heavyweight division. Dempsey would dominate LHW and Joe Louis would rule Cruiserweight.

They def could dominate today only difference would be cruserweight and not actually heavyweight. I can def see Ali Frazier rulling today’s cruserweights.

Lol look at the video zero combos everything crude and one shot at a time.

No way man that style was primitive stiff and plodding to tell you those guys didn’t really throw in combination it was still considered a new thing to punch in sequence.

Go back and watch some of theyre HLs and you’ll notice almost everything was thrown one punch at a time.

I respect the old timers and have been collecting old school footage from most eras but Sorry to let you down Benny leonard and the guys from that era wouldnt even be contendors today but again boxings history isn’t judged like that so they still get respect in fact Leonard would have been a journeyman nowadays.
