Yep, I remember reading that interview. Griffin sparred Floyd and fought Roy twice obviously.

I also remember Roy commentating at the Floyd-Pac fight and saying something like Floyd was 10% faster than Manny...Although that was a shoddy version of Manny.

I saw the names mentioned in this thread, and none of them are as athletically gifted as Jones.

Tyson, Ali, Loma, Floyd, Pac, Whitaker are great athletes, but no one moved quite like Roy.

Truthfully its hard to find an athletic comparison. There were some good ones but Roy takes the Cake.

I don't know if Mayweather belongs in this category or not. Sure he was athletic but he was more textbook than anything. He was as fundamentally as sound as a boxer as one can get. I would say Manny Pacquiao comes the closest when it comes to being as athletically gifted as Roy Jones, Jr.

young, prime, floyd had some amazing physical gifts.....prob one of the more gifted weve seen...he was smart enough though to know not to rely on that ....that being said i dont think prime for prime he was physically as gifted as roy
