It was a terrible idea and in weakened him a lot.
The writing was on the wall with Steve Forbes in the fight before Manny, Oscar couldnt make the 150 for that fight and Forbes a LW gave him all he could handle, I thought then he aint making 147 without it killing him and it did, it was one of the worst cases of a drained fighter in a big fight Ive ever seen in 50 yrs of following the sport.

When people claim this to be one of Mannys greatest win they sure dont understand what a massive handicap the weight was on Oscar, Im not blaming Manny he did what he is supposed to do but Oscar was ruined and had no chance before the bell sounded.

He would have been 140 if he did that and in hospital on a drip and coma , Oscar didnt have the fluids to lose, he was ruined the moment he signed to make 147.

He was 147 on fight night, he had not been that weight on fight night in over 13 yrs when he was at 135.

On the flip side he was 163 fight night against Floyd thats 18 pounds heavier, that version would beat Manny.

DLS f*up pretty bady, he had good trainer and good sparring for the pacquiao fight, but everybody was saying he was a bully for taking it, probably it got to his head and thought it was going to be an easy W.

Edwin Valero (who was DLH sparring partner for that fight) let spanish media know when DLH fired him from camp, that DLH was in no condition to fight and that he got fired for bringing too much heat to sparring sessions.

Basically it was Rocky III for DLH, too much fame, too good, and also with too much parties.

Roach, upon noticing IV marks at the weigh-in: " we got him "

I thought Pacquiao would win but didn't know he would dominate the way he did. I mean it's like people forgot the Steve Forbes fight. Oscar looked like trash in that fight

I’ve always felt that because Oscar had targeted September for his fight with Floyd at 147, hanging at that weight for an extra 3 months made it much worse than if the fight had gone off in September as planned.

He underestimated Pacquiao 'Probably thought he could beat him, even if he was weight drained'.

Nobody plans on being weight drained and there is no test run, so they guesstimate and think ah its only a few pounds, it can be the straw that broke the camels back when you start to be an ounce under all you have, your on your way to being totally fckd.

Oscar would have been stressing big time the 12 hrs before the fight because he would have been feeling like sht.
