See, this is reason most people are in favor of Spinks are so, you can't look at this based on past records.. it's not the way to put together fights at all, you look at "current events" and the current events say that Baldomir has recently defeated Zab in impressive fashion and just a month ago, defeated Arturo Gatti.. while Spinks managed to squeek by a victory by winning early rounds with Karmazin..

Also Baldomir is must faster than you think

It doesn't matter about Baldomir was fighting 10 years ago, it matters that currently, he's on a major run with two back-to-back upsets in a single year.. while recently Spinks, coming off a long layoff, managed to pull a win out over champion Karmazin.. it's that simple

You see? You're doing it again.

The only reason we were talking about records from 10 years ago is because I was earlier educating you about how the fights you had in your sig (from YEARS ago) were ignorant.

Now you're trying to confuse that with discussing Spinks and Baldomir's chances vs Floyd.

I didn't avoid anything, I've adressed this several times over now.

You keep saying Spinks narrowly got by Karmaiz. I'm telling you he beat him by a round just like Baldy beat Judah by a round.

And stop bringing up Gatti. He was a 140lber who would have been beaten by any top Welterweight.
Wow, and saying Spinks "cruised late" because he thought he had the fight won, proves a little more than ignorant, yeah, guys cry during the post intervew cause they "knew" they had the fight won

Also, theres a small difference between "cruising" and "running and holding"
    More ignorance.

A fight is won baded on who wins more rounds. Spinks expended a lot of energy being busy winning rounds earlier in the fight, and with his 1 year layoff, he was compeltely out of gas in the last few rounds. Thinking he had the fight won (again a boxing fight is won based on who wins more rounds) he held on, and won the fight.

It doesn't get much more simple than that.

Whoever wins the fight, wins more rounds.

Great news, he can beat Spinks next year if he wants, at least he will beat the MAN at 147.

You can't decide on whether you want to compare records, or fall back on saying Baldy has the better chance.

Once again, Spinks has 11 KO's in 38 fights, Baldy 13 KO's in 58 fights.

Punchers chance? I don't think so.

He's going to get carved up. Which is why I think Corey presents more probelms.

I don't have a problem with the fight because it's obvious Floyd worked out the money and wants the title at 147, but you guys don't know what you're trying to argue.
I am not arguing that Spinks lost the fight. I am saying he looked crappy the way he fell off at the end... I think you can admit that. And the KO records are a bit deceiving. Baldomir may not have big power but he is a heavy puncher...Spinks is not. Lets compare recent common opponent...Zab Judah. In two fights I never once saw Spinks hurt Judah. I did see Baldomir hurt Judah. That is the most simple way I can compare their power. Also Floyd isn't a natural 147 lber while Baldomir clearly is. And my opinion that Baldomir has a better chance is based directly off of comparing their records and also looking at what type of fighters they are. And how does Cory present a problem? Floyd is more than familiar with slick southpaws that like to box (Judah and Mitchell) so explain how Spinks gives him problems (and don't say he is a better boxer than the other two, I want you to tell me one pure boxer that has given Floyd trouble in his whole career).

here's "one", recently August 7th.. btalk:

WINKY WRIGHT TO HEADLINE HBO PPV ON DECEMBER 2!
                  By G. Leon

Moments ago Ronald "Winky" Wright informed **********.com that he will be returning to the ring on HBO PPV on December 2. Wright mentioned, Ike Quartey, Vernon Forrest, Javier Castillejo and Jermain Taylor ('if he wants it') as potential opponents. Wright also stated the card will take place in either Las Vegas or Tampa. Full interview to follow tomorrow morning. Remember where you heard it first! (6:22 PM EST)
That's just one.. as talks have been around for awhile now, but hey, if you don't want to take advantage of the internet and go strictly off post-fight interviews for fighter's feelings, i guess that's cool..

Zab coming off a loss to Baldi and Mitchell's first fight at welter aswell(not to mention recently getiing ktfo buy Kosta) were those "meaningful fights" just answe yes or no please. thanks for being a good sport

Judah won rounds early agaisnt Floyd by boxing.

Again you mention that Corey finished poorly, but neglect to understand that he won the fight because he started stronger and won more rounds.

Baldy's power isn't deceiving. He doesn't have a lot of it. His 13 KO's in 58 fights speaks for itself. He has very little chance of huring Floud. Judah has poor chin, and got sloppy. He still didn't go down, where as Spinks dropped Judah, albeit not a very big shot.

The bottom line is that Corey's boxing presnets more potential challenges than Baldmoir's limited plodding with below average power.
