For the Floyd fight I have an excuse as I was still a casual, quite young and ******. People in the UK all thought Ricky would win, I remember overhearing people at the shopping mall saying "Ricky will do that Flint Mayflower by bodyshot in the 6th", stuff like that.

I honestly should have known better by the Pac fight though, but somehow I bought the line that mayweather Sr had made Hatton a master boxer and that he'd be "too big" for pacquiao.

    Dearie me
I never thought Hatton would win and no one who knew boxing in the UK did either, even SKy said it along the lines of "Your brain tells you Mayweather will win but the heart wants Ricky to win", pretty clear. You must have been totally brainwashed.

      David Reid
      Andre Dirrell
      Chavez Jr.

      Mike Tyson vs. Lewis

Still passes me to this day Lewus was allowed to just hold and drop weight the entire fight. By time started getting points deducted it was too late Mike Tyson was done.

Never. I make my own picks and decide how good boxers are by what my eyes tell me. If I pick the wrong winner then it is my mistake alone and not because of hype or what others say about boxers.

The only real time I jumped on a hype train and it didn't quite work out was Berto. I really thought he could be the 2nd coming of Floyd in the earlier part of his career. When he ended up fighting Floyd he was so thoroughly outclassed I was embarrassed to ever have touted him as potential p4p King material. When he beat Ortiz ( in what was a fantastic fight) that was the peak of my fanboy status for Berto but he more or less disappointed his fans soon after that for the rest of his career.

I've been wrong before on fight outcomes, but not in a " I didn't see that coming way".

I would have to go with The Next Great Champ....Otis Griffin. He didn't even become The Next Champ.

I thought Vitali was going to wipe the floor with Chris Byrd's ass, but he struggled to land any meaningful blows and then blew his shoulder and bailed out of the fight, bringing shame to the Klitschko name.
