Admit times you've been taken in by the Hype

My worst was definatley Ricky Hatton, BOTH TIMES against Floyd and Pac

For the Floyd fight I have an excuse as I was still a casual, quite young and ******. People in the UK all thought Ricky would win, I remember overhearing people at the shopping mall saying "Ricky will do that Flint Mayflower by bodyshot in the 6th", stuff like that.

I honestly should have known better by the Pac fight though, but somehow I bought the line that mayweather Sr had made Hatton a master boxer and that he'd be "too big" for pacquiao.

    Dearie me

If you understand boxing the hype will never get you, you can pick wrong but it wont be hype behind it, it will be things in the boxing you didnt see.

      Haye vs Wlad.

When it was announced my gut obviously said Wlad, but then I started getting taken in by the Hayemakers fancy patter. The big talk, the T-shirt, I figured he had Wlad worried.

By the end of the promotion, he had me hook line and sinker, and I bet £100 on a Haye KO.

Then Wlad played with him like a child and he blamed his toe.

      F*** David Haye.

First Tyson vs Holyfield fight. All those talks of "Tyson will knock Holyfield out cold" influenced my mind.

After three or four rounds I realized that it was Evander's night.

Agreed. My biggest gotcha was Haye vs Wlad. I foolishly thought that Haye was quick enough and powerful enough to get to Wlad after his performance in the Valuev fight.

With Haye vs Wlad I didn't so much pick Haye as I thought it would be a highly competitive fight, I thought it would be cagey for a few rounds then as soon as they started throwing with intent it would be over quickly either way.

I never thought it'd be such a drab, one sided affair.

Looking back and thinking about their styles, I don't know why we expected anything other than what we got lol.

Jeff Lacy. I thought he was going to stretch Joe.

Lemuix I bet to beat Saunders.

Figured he hits harder so even the misses will sound better than Saunders. It was in Canada so figured the loud crowd would sway judges as well. Plus He did ok against GGG when ESPN was shoving ggg the GREATEST of ALLTIME every article I read.

                    WOW!!! I WAS dead wrong.
