Fury is just the boxing version of Durant from the NBA. You've seen guys who were skilled shooters at his size but they could never move and handle the ball like a true guard. The combination of his literal complete skillset on top of being the size of a small ish center is what makes him unique and imo the best and most complete player in the NBA. Similarly there have been large fighters with either power, speed, or both with the ability to really box and move, but they weren't slicksters like Fury, nor switch hitters. Then you have Ali who was everything Fury is but smaller. We haven't had a guy who can move like a MW be over 6'5, be well over it. Fury is faster and slicker than some MWs even. I call him the HW Locche, Sweet Pea in Goliaths body for a reason. He is literally the HW Sweet Pea.
I'd argue only Wilt and Shaq have the ability to dominate KD 1 on 1 in history. There are no Wilt or Shaqs in boxing though to oversize and bully, and trump Furys skill with power and muscle. It's really hard to pick a guy who can get by his defense, who has the power to either knock him down 3+ times in a fight, or who can keep him down, and harder still is it to find a guy you can confidently say can win on points by outboxing, who is probably the greatest pure boxer the division and sport has ever seen. And too many cats on here only look back to Johnson's era, boxing is way older than the queensberry rules, it goes back to the Greeks and Romans.
It's simple, all one has to do is watch the Tyson vs Lewis fight and the size difference is clearly evident. And it wouldn't of mattered if they were both prime, Mike would still lose 10 out 10 times because he was way too small for Lewis.
Fury dwarfed Wilder who was like what 6'6" or 6'7" ft tall. So even the hardest punches from the old school Heavyweight eras like Foreman, Shavers and Tyson will not phase or hurt Fury. It'll be like mosquito bites to him.Last edited by HandsofIron; 07-26-2020, 12:05 PM.

Agreed. I think Fury toys with a guy like Shavers.
Oddly enough I think a guy like Marciano stands a better chance than many because he can get so low and he had tremendous power and stamina, yes Fury can pick him apart but Marciano would keep coming at him and in more intelligent ways than Chisora or Wilder did.
Ali would still be fascinating to be because the figh level IQ and skillset of both would lead to some epic exchanges.

Lennox Lewis, Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko are mythical match ups worth mentioning vs Fury because they are around same size, weight wise.

I'd love to see Fury go to war with a prime Vitali.
