A great boxer would never let that get to him unless they are very vain and have an inflated ego that needs to be stroked on a daily basis. Wilder certainly seems to fit that bill. Ali was hated by most of America when he joined the Nation of Islam and dodged the draft. It didn't stop him. He came back, fought in classic matchup after matchup and won the hearts of fans everywhere. Foreman was hated by many. Mayweather was hated by more boxing fans than not but that was by design because he knew he'd sell a lot of tickets and PPVs with so many people wanting to see him lose.
Sugar Ray Leonard was disliked by a lot of white fans because of his evasive, defensive style. It didn't stop him one bit. I don't Wilder is cut from the same cloth as those HOF'ers.
