No offense to people who dont like lower weight fights, but when guys like Arce or the armenian guy(Vic Darchinyan) fight, these fights give me wood. Lower weights should never be overlooked.

Didn't see the fight but it sounds like Viloria was looking for a KO or the one punch to turn the fight. I've seen him fight twice and he's a high volume puncher.

Who knows? He probably had to take a **** or stayed up too late the night before.

At least the decision was fair.

Cmon Fuego...anybody under 122 pounds is a joke to you?

You wouldnt be foaming at the mouth to see Darchinyan and Arce get it on? There are some incredibly competitive fights at the lower levels that cannot be ignored by anybody especially you!

Do you think Lopez vs. Alvarez was a joke? How about Chiquita vs. Carbahajl, was that a joke?

Some of the best action fights in the sport are south of 122-dont forget that.

How do I go about seeing the fights under 122?

I think this fight was the first fight under 126 that I've ever seen on TV.

That's a good point, I have in the past seen some very good fights at the lower weight classes, but they don't seem to get much exposure here in the states.

Alot of fights south of 122 are tough to see but usually the bigger fights at the lower weights due find themselves on an undercard of a major fight or sometimes even a main event.

Carbahajl and Chiquita Gonzalez fights are must sees absolutely must see, most consider the first fight to be the one of the greatest if not thee greateest flyweight fight of all time.

Alvarez vs. Lopez 1 and 2 should not be missed either.

Dont worry about missing really big fights south of 122 unless the fighters are from Korea or Japan...if Vic and Arce ever hook up it will be on US TV....hell I d pay to see that one.

it was completely and utterly pathetic. volaria didnt stary any of the combinations and didnt show any desire to win at any poin during the fight. He was completely shutdown and had idea what to do. i lost a lot of the respect i had for voloria in that fight.

I thought that picking him to win by KO in the 7th round was a stretch. i thought it would have earlier and quicker. but i heard that nino was a tough kid and i though he would hang on for a few rounds. Losing NEVER entered my mind...

i hate how we always need a rematch nowadays. any tough, close, or upset fight must have a rematch. its getting on my nerves. i hope they dont have a rematch for this fight, viloria doesnt deserve one

Before being too critical of Brian first you have to take into account that he's a really nice guy and second that just 3 fights ago he nearly killed Ruben Contreras.
Now, after Contreras almost died from bleeding on the brain from the hands of Viloria in a 6 rd beating, Brian is more hesitant to let his hands go like he used to.
Some fighters cannot recover from something like that, some take a little time. I hope the latter is the case for Brian because he was a helluva thing to watch prior to that incident.
I did not know about this, and like I said, I was only rating him based on his one performance from last night, which is obviously his worst. This is more an attack on his desire than his abilities, but if this is true, then that's really too bad for Viloria. Boxing is cruel like that.
