Maidana beat floyd in first fight so even though historically ability wise maidana isn't much.more than a footnote, he does in eyes of many have a win over Floyd as does castillo, Pac and dlh.
Pity Floyd didn't give Pac and dlh rematch and nelo. These would be Floyd s biggest rivals

Truth Be told Floyd would've gave Oscar, Nelo, and Manny rematch before, before he gave Chino a 3rd match.......Chino landed shots that would've slept any other Welter on Floyd and Floyd crying to his daddy in his corner he cant see......

-Oscar priced himself out, being a classic clown that he was, running, messing up boxing's and the 90s-2000s history and landscape consistently pricing himself out of must see rematches. Peple forget the chicken dela hoya articles; it's okay he didnt retain his golden luster in retirement.....

-Nelo got thoroughly manhandled from opening bell, you couldnt pay me to buy that fight 12-0 fight a 2nd time.....

-Manny tried to be slick; he knew everyone including Mayweather would want a second fight, off eye they both laid back and slacked off to preserve a fight two....Manny and his team thought Floyd was still too good at his age although slowed down and knew his next fight was scheduled in Sept; he came up with the shoulder escape to ruin Manny Floyd 2 in sept; hoping Mayweather would stick around to the next May to age him further...Very tactical but move misplayed.....

Off eye that Garcia Chino was elite as they come, he couldnt miss with his jab on the low, deceptively quick as hell as well.....Mayweather put his leaping left hook in his holster the latter half of his career, and you had Chino setting one up with body jabs, and perfectly catching Broner who was one of the best damn defensive fighters in the sport by numbers then, smack dab in the middle of the ring....Chino wasn't no fluke and even coming back off the couch he is not to be slept on, even if he's lost a level or two, he still neck and neck with this no great welter(excluding old Manny) generation IMO

I just worry about the age and inactivity, plus all the weight he has gained. I’d love to see him back to his best but I think it’s somewhat unlikely.

I think he's serious, he pulled back on the comeback date lined up months back as he wasn't ready, went back to the gym and kept on pushing.....Rather than try to rush for a Manny fight which Haymon were pushing, Chino trying to be the best Chino if he does come back, so this cant all be about the money....Even though his eye is on the money if he do comes back(Manny, Canelo, and GGG who he has sparred and held his own)

Depends on which weight, but if he looking for a easy touch to make noise

Ortiz is a hell of a puncher and he really hurt him. Maidana's gameness and heart pull him threw a rough time. Maidana is a born fighter and Ortiz might have really been something if he had Maidana's mental toughness and determination in the ring.
