the face of boxing is usually the person with the biggest bank balance often with the smug look of someone who knows they have made it, that fits ginger pubes quite well

Definitely in the US. Probably in Europe. Canelo has fought on PPV in the UK at least twice. That’s very rare over here, for example De La Hoya- Mayweather wasn’t even PPV over here.

I remember watching Mayweather De La Hoya on Skysports. I can’t remember if it was PPV but the reality is, at that point, not many US fighters were PPV in UK prior to that point.

One of the Canelos PPV in the UK was against Mayweather. He wasn’t the draw there.

Again, even in the UK, Canelo is not a household name. That is 100% factual, AJ however would be. Fact is, there is no one out there that is a house hold name globally like the previously mentioned.

He’s well known among boxing fans and Mexicans

would a random Asian white or Indian in America who isn’t boxing fan recognize him
Canelo has been a bigger name than Manny in the US since 2016...

and tyson fury isn't more known than Canelo either

Well we know Manny who's claim to fame was riding the coattails of Floyd Mayweather, WAS NEVER the face of Boxing. Manny was just a cheap imitation who failed at being the face and made his money because Bob promoted him as the answer to the Mayweather problem. We all know if Floyd comes back he'll make triple of what Manny made these past few years- and thats AFTER a global pandemic has taken place.
I'll say cut the world in half and the face of Boxing is split. NA/SA It's Canelo/Wilder. Say what you want- but men lie, women lie, numbers don't. Of course the edge goes to Canelo because he's already been established while Wilder relatively recently established himself in comparison.
And for AF/EU it's AJ/Fury. With the edge going to AJ. Likewise, say what you want but men lie, women lie, numbers don't. AJ has been an established figure while Fury has recently became a name.
Asia kinda does it's own thing they're the least diverse so they're the least open to anyone who isn't asian. But likewise asian stars aren't as well recognized in the other four continents. And I said four. Nobody is representing Antartica. I'd say Manny is holding down the asian continent followed by Inoue. East Asia/South East Asia/Central Asia all tend to favor Manny. You'd have to be someone monumental like Floyd was to unanimously become the global face of Boxing. And Floyd did it by beating the biggest names of different countries/Continents. Most of These guy's now are having domestic level rivalries which there is nothing wrong with at all- it just won't get them "face of Boxing" status. I fully understood this after reading a forum between who was a bigger star back in the 80/90s Mike Tyson or Michael Jordan. All the Americans said Jordan. The rest of the world said Tyson. For obvious reasons it made sense. NBA, especially back then, is largely a domestic sport. So while MJ is larger than life to us- he was just another name some people overseas might have heard but never cared to look into. By Boxing being a global sport, Mike Tyson was always widely known.

Mayweather-Canelo was not PPV. It was on Boxnation.

It was his fights with GGG that were on PPV.

Mayweather was only PPV over here vs Hatton, Pacquiao and McGregor.

Canelo is a bigger star in the UK than AJ is in the US. Easily...

The only guy who’s had considerable PPV success in both countries is Tyson Fury.

However, looking at the numbers of DAZN his pulling power doesn’t seem to show he is the face of boxing. I personally feel their is no face of boxing at the moment, but the two fighters that could be considered close are Canelo in north and South America, and Anthony Joshua in Europe.

Who do you think is the face of boxing if any? If you look at other sports soccer, football, MMA etc they all have faces when you think about them
                  Obviously Fury. It's not close.

It’s clearly Mcgregor. He has been since 2016.
