My scoring of Pacquiao Vs Mayweather

Mayweather promotions uploaded this fight and it's the only version I've found to be on youtube with good quality. The only time I've watched this fight was live and never tried watching it again since I never found a great quality on youtube. The one and only time I ever watched it, when it was live, I scored it 6-6. I didn't keep track of which rounds or why I scored it one way for that round, I just remembered it was 6-6.

Since they uploaded this great version, I decided to watch it once again and see how I would score it.

1 Mayweather (not much going on, but a Mayweather round)
2 Manny close (could b Mayweather)
3 Manny close (cleaner shots, Mayweather landed taps)
    4 Manny (clear)
5 Mayweather (boring, nothing much, but Mayweather round)
6 Manny (cleaner shot, Mayweather on ropes)
7 Mayweather (close, Manny cleaner shots, but gave it to Mayweather)
8 Mayweather (clear, but weak punches that didn't hurt Pacquiao)
9 Manny (close, but landed the cleaner shots)
10 Manny (clear, Mayweather didn't do anything)
    11 Mayweather (clear)
12 Mayweather (early taps, then ran, could make it Pacquiao with activity, but ended up giving it to Mayweather)

After totaling it up, I was happy to see another 6-6. I scored it the same my second time as I did the first time.

I know a lot of people may not agree, which is fine, but this is a boxing forum to have discussion, and at least from what I saw, I had it 6-6.

I could be fine with 7-5 Mayweather or 7-5 Pacquiao; however, 7-5 Mayweather would be a lot more likelier than 7-5 Pacquiao, but to me, the best score was still 6-6 based off of what I felt and saw.

    Some take aways:

-at 40:20 of the video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Z1QTu7r8NI&t=2420s you do see something red on Pacquiao's right shoulder. How that red spot got there is another discussion, but it is there.

-After round 6, it was funny hearing Sr getting on his son about how he wasn't doing what he wanted him to do, you could see Floyd not even looking at him and ignoring him, surprisingly after this speech though, round 7 Floyd came out throwing more

-The ones that scored it 10-2/9-3 to Mayweather must've given all of the close rounds to Mayweather, but also with so many close rounds, it's hardly a "dominant performance"

Lastly, while it may not have lived up to the hype and wasn't action packed, it still had 2 guys in there boxing beautifully, I thought it was great technique all around.

      You are having a laugh.

I had it 118-110 Mayweather and both rounds I gave to Pac could’ve gone either way. You Pac Fans are still heartbroken 5 years later and just can’t get over it huh? I feel sorry for you!!!

Pac won 2, maybe 3 rounds. No more.

It wasn't a close fight. Most of the rounds weren't close, either.

        Let it go.

For some reason, this fight has been talked about a lot lately so I watched it last night for the first time since it was live and scored it.

I scored it 117-111 Mayweather, and people know I'm no fan of Floyd. I think he's a wonderful boxer and a POS person. That said, Manny couldn't deal with Floyd's foot speed. I enjoyed the fight a lot more than I remember. Probably because it was just a fight on youtube, and not a $100 PPV we waited six years for.

round 7 was clearly pac. you even say manny landed the cleaner shots yet gave it to floyd? i dont understand that. that counter left might have been mannys best punch in the fight. credit to floyd for taking it but it was ten times better than any floyd punch that round and the rest of the round floyd landed almost nothing. also in the 8th manny hurt floyd and forced him to cover up. it was a close round but in a close round i give it to the guy who hurt the other. other then that that seems like a fair scorecard unlike other people who say it was a domination when it was far from it

yeah they could have gone either way when he had floyd badlly hurt and outlanded him by huge margins yet the rounds where floyd lands nothing but a weak grazing jab are clear floyd rounds lol

he couldnt deal wtih his speed? what are you watching? floyd coudlnt deal with mannys speed. how do you twist things like that? look how he took away floyds lead punches, becasue pac was too fast and he didnt want to deal with mannys counters. look how he took away floyd counters, once again because pac was too fast for floyd to counter and get away in the same motion. hence why he resorted to jabbing while out of range and really doing almost nothing when it comes to clean solid connects. a lil push off hook while falling away off balance(already on the back foot) or the occasional right when he knew pac was out of position but those were few. manny just took his time and was abl to land the much better shots without taking very many solid connects in return. boxing?

I thought it was a competitive fight, had it even after 8. Floyd won 3 out of the last 4. I thought it was a 7-5 8-4ish fight to Floyd.

Most people on here are heavily influenced by the commentating and preconceptions of what both fighters do well. Manny was supposed to be the terroriser in this fight, the aggressor, but actually he boxed...beautifully at times. Not enough to win the fight but he doesnt get the credit because of the perceptions.

In reality what you saw was two guys who are master level at controlling distance, so they nullified each others offense, Floyd did a better job.

People who say Floyd never stepped out of 2nd gear are idiots. That is just a way of his fans trying to build the aura, the myth, but the reality is that he couldn't dominate or tee off on Manny the way he could other guys.

Regardless Floyd did what he had to do to win. And all of the above could be misconstrued as me bigging Manny up, but actually it is just the my honest analysis, and it actually gives more kudos to Floyd's win. And that is the biggest thing I can say about Floyd, even when he struggles or has problems presented in the ring, he finds a way. Guys go through bad camps, injuries, sickness, overtraining, etc etc these can all lead to bad performances, and losses. But in Floyd's case he always found a way, his consistency and the length of his prime is unique.
