Manny speaks the truth. Manny isn't asking for any sympathy or telling young guys to stop calling him out. He's calling them out, and beating them up, too. He has a world title and he wants all the young top guys. He's not fighting teenager kickboxers and MMA guys and counting victories over them as legit wins on his official record. He only fights ranked boxers. He doesn't use or want to use Floyd's current business model. He risks his record against real top boxers. He won't let Floyd attempt to put that old man label on him, because he's a champion with a title to defend. Manny never strategically retired in order to avoid certain fights. Floyd is smart and he's rich, but Manny is all fighter

I kinda read it the same way like some people here. I thought Floyd was actually paying respect to Manny. Manny earned the right to fight who he wants to fight. He should be able to pick and choose whoever he wants. But I get the young guys too, Manny is where the money is. He is the big payday and may only have a few years left. And Manny helped all of them by proving he can still compete with all of them. Handling Thurman like he did was no small feat.

I was SO mad when Pacquiao rejected the offer to fight Mayweather in 2010, all because he didn't want to enlist in the VADA program. In retrospect, he was right to reject the $40 million flat fee (and should have countered with a percentage split), but accepting the offer would have been a major psychological blow to Mayweather. Just like when Wilder accepted the $15 million flat fee to fight Joshua, with the only caveat that the fight be next and that there be a two-way rematch clause since he was a champion before Joshua and Fury. Hearn and Joshua were so shocked they came up with the WBA mandatory excuse and the Joshua buzz has been on the slide ever since.

I believe Pacquiao would have forced Mayweather to another level and I believe he STILL would have beaten him. Pacquiao cheated himself out of a great legacy win and boxing fans would have been blessed with a trilogy of fights between the two.

I have a feeling Manny took what Floyd said out of context. He probably thought since Floyd referred to him as an old man that he was making fun of him, but he was pretty much complementing him if you take what he said into context.

That's all it is right there. One of the rare times May gives him high praise & he takes it way out of context bc he said "old man". Lol. They'll clear it up later.
