Comments Thread For: Malignaggi: Utterly Ridiculous Guy As Good As Whyte Hasn't Had Heavyweight Title Shot

Dillian Whyte isn't the only one who can't believe he still hasn't fought for a heavyweight title. Paulie Malignaggi considers it "ludicrous" that Whyte, based on the British heavyweight's impressive resume, has never received a title shot. London's Whyte (27-1, 18 KOs) is scheduled to fight Russia's Alexander Povetkin (35-2-1, 25 KOs) for Whyte's WBC's interim championship July 4 in Manchester, England, but he has been the WBC's number one contender for more than two years and still hasn't had a crack at the WBC's legitimate title.

He deserves a title shot. Who else is there?

However, he isn't good. He's half decent amongst a bad bunch...

Because the WBC was protecting that great fraud hope Wilder. Politics as usual from Haymon protecting his great Heavyweight hope . Coward culture in boxing. Weakness.

Don’t let these PBC/Wilder apologist read this. They are going to be here in a minute telling us how Whyte “Ducked” final eliminator against the greatest Ortiz (Secondary mandatory in actual fact).

I kinda agree with Paulie M, especially when talking about Whyte and the protection that the WBC gave to Wilder, Whyte himself deserves some blame. He had a chance to fight in April for 3 belts against Joshua. He kept ****ing on about drug testing, money and how Team Joshua didn’t make him the first choice initially.

Like mate, take the ******** fight. It’s a voluntary defence, for a lot of money, rematch clause, drug testing, and a chance to actually fight for a world title. Here is the list of guys that has fought for a world title over the last 2/3 years.... Bermane st, Takam, Ortiz (Twice - joke), Breazeale (Travesty), Parker, Ruiz, Fury (After 3 years out ), Povetkin, Molina...

No one can tell me that they all deserve it over whyte.

The fact that the likes of Molina (my word), Breazeale and Stiverne have not had 1 but 2 shots must drive him mad - he's definitely been an afterthought for the WBC.

Whyte has been his own worst enemy when it comes to getting a title shot. He’s turned down multiple title eliminators and turned down an offer to fight Joshua again last year.

He should get a shot but it’s hard to care when it doesn’t even seem like he wants one.
