Canelo is a better fighter than Golovkin.

Golovkin might have been "robbed" in both fights, but Canelo is the better and more skilled fighter.

Canelo adjusted in the rematch, which is why he gave Golovkin more trouble.

Canelo is a better body puncher. Golovkin has become a headhunter in his recent fights.

    Canelo is a better counter-puncher.

Canelo has better head movement. Look at Golovkin's face in the rematch.

Many mistakes. Marks in face depend on the fighters skin, is not a great indicator of fight outcome.

We don't know if Canelo is better than GGG. What we know is that he lost twice against him. But head to head doesn't mean someone is better than other fighter, I know that. It could be a match up issue.

Still, Canelo fought him at his prime whereas Golovkin fought him while being out of prime. Let's see how good Canelo is when he's 35+ years old.

You might be right but it hasn’t been definitively proven yet.

Well even if you leave the 2 fights aside which everyone has a difference of opinion on anyways, the difference between these 2 fighters is Canelo is not a coward and Golovkin is

All Golivkin could do is out land Canelo in almost every round.

So now Canelo who either fought scared or fought a dumb game plan gets credit for fighting the way he should have in the second fight.

A better fighter right now, perhaps. I don't know about more skilled though, depends on what you mean.

Most boxing skills require quickness and reflexes to implement. Older fighters, while they still might have the skills, don't have the physical abilities to carry out what their brains are asking them to do. Current Canelo can do more than the current version of Golovkin. Golovkin has enough ring savvy however to be competitive utilizing his reach advantage and a superior jab. At least this is how it looks to me.

That’s a fair point. I thought GGG won both fight but I see what you’re saying. Canelo possibly has the greater ring IQ, he adapts better to different styles. Their fights against Jacobs show that IMO.

I think the 24 rounds they have shared do suggest that whoever is truly better, isn’t better by all that much though.

Canelo actually has the longer reach by half an inch.

You speak of difference in opinion and then erase that statement with another opinionated statement. It's all opinion when it comes to GGG and Canelo these days. The only fact is they fought to a draw then fought to a Canelo victory. No matter how the fans score it in the official judging that's how it goes down in history.
