Hard to say. Porter almost beat Spence. Pacquiao beat Thurman by a couple of points maybe. Spence is superior to Thurman as long as he's the same after the accident. That remains to be seen but Porter wasn't in any accident and trains like a beast. I honestly think Porter would be too strong, too fresh for Manny at this point in Manny's career and I'm a big Pacquiao fan.

What's funny is that the fight is much more interesting now than it ever was since 2015. Around that time Pac was past it, he had the losses to Mayweather and then Horn two years later, he hadn't put on an inspired effort in years. The Thurman win has him right back near the top of the division and a fight with Crawford has a lot more meaning.

The key...how to pay for the 20 million Manny is demanding.

Manny knows that Bob can drum up money and interest in China and China sure can use a PR shine job. Still, it's a tall, tall order in the era of the virus, we'll see.

Past prime Pac is still a better scalp than Porter, both for the name and the fact that Pac is at least as good as Porter. He's past it but he proved he is at least as good a welterweight as Porter, if not better.

Had Thurman-Porter-DSG fought Pacquiao even at 2013-2014 post KO. In hindsight, there is no way they would have beaten Pacquiao back then, even now its a 50-50.

Pacquiao would have chin checked Porter who swings for the fences with his chin on the air, whose style is tailor made for a younger Pacquiao.

Styles make fights and Porter is a bigger, stronger more skilled fighter then Jeff Horn. After Manny got mugged by Horn, I'd bet the farm on Porter beating Manny. Porter is under rated, he is a tough, tough outing for anyone....including Crawford.

I agree, and I'm not underrating Porter here. I'm just saying that Pacquiao right now is at least as good as Porter, at least as much of a contender at welterweight as Porter, and he has a much bigger name and payday, so it means more to beat him than Porter right now.

That doesn't mean Porter sucks, and he damn well could beat Pac, it's just that Pac is still that guy and proved it against Thurman.

I have never seen such a top level fighter that just could not get w meaningful fight as crawford and then resign with the same promotional company that has gotten him nothing. To be fair, Crawford is dumb as a box of rocks and has as much personality as drying paint so it’s not all Top Rank’s fault. But you would think crawford would be smart enough to say “hmm....everyone I want to fight is with PBC....maybe I should go sign with them and get more exposure fighting on FOX, and then my base becomes larger than just Cornhuskers, and then I’ll be right there in the mix.”

Are you ****** or do you not understand that Manny is near the end of his career and NOWHERE near his prime? Porter is still in his prime. That never stopped Mayweather from fighting a washed up inactive version of DLH nor did it stop Pac from fighting an even more washed up version of DLH.
That's how Mayweather got famous. That's how Pac solidified his fame.

Most people that pay for these fights don't care as much where a guy is in his career. But to get stardom, you fight and defeat a big name that is popular with the general public. Doesn't have to be prime as that's not even in the equation for success.

from a business standpoint yeah it sort of made sense for bud to stay....and there probably is some sense of loyalty to the company that built him....

hes making the same money as spence, danny, thurman etc....easy to sit over there when top rank only has one mouth to feed in that division as opposed to 4 or 5 and you dont have to fight any of them

but hes not fooling any of us constantly talking about those guys and wondering why he cant get fights...hes gonna be over there shouting all their names and acting like he doesnt know why he isnt getting meaningful fights...
