Comments Thread For: De La Hoya Says He'd Need Only 2 Rounds To Knock Out McGregor In Boxing Match

True story
He tried to lay down the money himself and was refused
Had a friend place the wager
Mayweather could of done what he did in the 10th round ( if I’m not mistaken ) anytime in that fightComment

Hes almost 50, stopping Conor in 2 rounds is unlikely. Guys like Canelo and GGG could probably do it in 3-4 though.
Not sure what any of it proves anyway, how long would ODH last under MMA rules? the first half of the first round if hes lucky?Comment

Canelo takes him out in 1. Connor doesn’t hit as hard with 8oz gloves and he has been dropped Khabib who is not a power puncher by an means.Comment

Much harder to stop someone quickly under boxing rules, even badly outmatched opponents can last a while. Only 3 mins to stop him, with just punches, wearing bigger gloves, and him getting a standing count even if you hurt him, its not an easy task.
Reason he got dropped by Khabib is he was preoccupied with the takedown threat, and anyone can potentially hurt you with 4oz gloves.Comment

Oscar never was at his best vs a southpaw stance or guys with weird style.I'd take the over. I figure McGregor is self aware enough to avoid getting ktfo that quick vs a old Oscar. Sh^t Oscar might be half dead after making weight these days & end up having to take a wide decision.
That said stay outta the ring Oscar & quit talking about fighting & just hype your guys under contract ffs.
So you would think Oscar being old, that fight would be competitive.
Oscar still probably has a vicious left hook despite being in old man shape, would not be that surprised if he ices McGregor.
That would be a fun fight, Connor would just verbally abuse Oscar in press conf with fishnets stuff ect...
It would do decent numbers tbhComment

Oscar would still outbox Connor. Mcgregor is not even an amateur level boxer. He’s a great fighter that is world class in other disciplines.
Now the age difference may play a factor but Connor would not outbox De La Hoya.Comment
