I hate circus fights but I'd love to see someone like Oscar, Mosley, Manny etc. in a boxing match against McGregor just to bring these MMA idiots back to reality. Floyd could've taken him out in a round of he really wanted to but he actually tried to make it entertaining be walking forward with earmuffs the majority of the fight. Seriously, could anyone imagine Floyd fighting a serious opponent like he did McGregor lol

I cringe everytime I hear an MMA guy say how "McGregor went ten rounds with the best boxer of all time in his 1st boxing match" or "Connor landed more punches on Floyd than most boxers" The fact that they actually believe their man was having success just makes me sick lol.

I had a guy literally argue with me and say that McGregor would beat Manny in boxing match. He almost had a heart attack when I told him Floyd purposely carried him in their fight. He called me delusional - oh the irony

I won 100 bucks from a guy at work on that fight and he still argues McGregor " almost had him " it goes to show who knows the sport of boxing. Mayweather carried the fight that long just for the purpose of giving people what they paid for and that's it.

A boxer isn't gonna do good in the octagon and a mixed martial artist isn't doing good in a boxing ring. Its 2 totally different sports.

Mayweather could have took McGregor out when he wanted. Once the obligatory rounds to make it more interesting for paying public were out of the way the inevitable happened..

Oscar could probably take McGregor out in 2.

Would I like to find out? Anything that ****s McGregor out cold I'd watch. Prob is he'd tap out before getting hurt...

I think Connor beats dlh now. When your the best mma guy it means you probably learn new skills fast and your talented.
Boxing there is less to learn you can become good quite fast. Irish love boxing.

i disagree with people saying mayweather took conor 10 rds on purpose..

floyds extremely smart, even tho conor not too dangerous in a boxing ring, its still a fight and u can be hurt. floyds plan was to let him get off big shots (his own words mind you) and to put it on him in the 2nd half of the fight. This sport is too dangerous floyd knows that, if you have a vulnerable fighter in front of you , you take him out. No way floyd is "carrying" a guy to make fans happy, when did he ever care about pleasing fans in the ring?

exactly, to me it seems like common sense.. i think floyd fans are trying to warp the perception of the fight because conor exceeded expectations..

either way he ended up stopping him. so floyd fans theres no need to create fictional scenarios

Oscar’s 47, and has been out of the ring for years. McGregor is 31, and still a top combat sports athlete. I’m not sure De La Hoya can go ten rounds, let alone KO McGregor in two. Mind you, I don’t think Conor stands a chance against a relatively young and capable boxer, but this match-up favors the much younger and active man — at least with regards to seeing the final bell.

Agreed. I think Floyd would’ve been happy to take McGregor out early. But although Conor is nowhere near the level of a rusty Mayweather, his ability to take punishment is still there. What got him stopped was as much fatigue as anything else. The fight was a sideshow, but McGregor wasn’t as horrible as many anticipated. He might conceivably beat an old, inactive De La Hoya.

No MMA fighter, a whiteboy at that, lasts long with any former Mexican fighter.

I guess we got age out the way. But how about with rotator cuff injuries? Do you still take him out in two?
