Weight bully IS NOT a thing. If you make the weight and you are strong c'est la vie, the rules are the same for everyone.

Obviously there is a line, and weight drained happens when a fighter takes that principal too far and it weakens them. But at the end of the day the rules are the same when you sign the contract the better man will win end of story

      bingo !!

          Define "crying"

Had Toney not had to drop like seventy pounds going into the RJJ fight, it would have been a completely different fight.

No, that would only cause more deaths in the ring.

Well put. I agree. Making weight is part of the sport, always has been. It’s not like anyone getting into boxing doesn’t know these parameters. At one point even if it’s for just a minute hopefully both fighters weigh the exact same. That’s as good as u can get it. David Lemieux blasted out Spike O’Sullivan, and Spike complained that he was fighting a light heavyweight in there. I think that was a very embarrassing and misleading thing to say. Obviously Spike weighed more than the MW limit himself once in ring. Most LH would weigh much more than 175lbs in ring also. So it’s a corny thing to say. Just an excuse. Lemieux has been hospitalized for trying to make weight too. It’s all about finding what’s to ur advantage. Any opinions by fans or commentators is pure speculation. Nobody will ever truly know the effects or advantages fight to fight. A lot of lighter fighters can be the harder punchers or have the better chin. Nobody makes a huge deal about height or reach? Anyone who has a title and dictates unique terms like not letting the fight be held at the official weight limit or sets a rehydration clause that’s not in the rules is being a “weight bully” as far as I understand the term. I mean one fighter is in the position of power and he can say I’m changing the rules cause he has the stroke or theres no fight. Now imagine if that was sum other type of workplace and it was a male boss dictating terms to a female subordinate? Yikes. But it’s just not looked at the same.

It's pretty straight forward, and you can absolutely have it both ways. If you're ever in doubt, just ask one question - is there a clear A side in the fight? At best, the A side fights on neutral ground. Typically, A side wants an advantage.

Floyd vs. JMM: JMM has to come up 2 weight division because Floyd is a weight bully.
Floyd vs. Canelo: Canelo has to shed 2 lbs from a weight he was already struggling to make, Floyd is a weight drainer.
Canelo vs. JCC Jr: JCCJ has to shed 4 lbs from a weight he was struggling to make. Canelo is a weight drainer.
Caneloweight, for ex Khan: Canelo is a weight bully.
