Weight bully? Or weight-drained? Which is it?

Seems like people like to have it both ways when boxers drop a lot of pounds to make the weight limit of a certain division.

If they don't like them then they are weight bullies picking on smaller guys.

If they do like them then they are great for fighting well despite being so weak from forcing themselves to make the weight.

Errol Spence being a perfect example. If he has to drop 40 pounds to make welterweight then that should work against him, right? He should be drained from the effort and it shouldn't be seen as an advantage.

Well it depends on how much they seem to be debilitated by their weight cut. If you're looking huge but shoddy, you're weight drained. If you're looking huge and good to go, you're a weight bully.

David Haye once stated it reveals something about a person's mentality if? They feel the need to become a weight bully 'He stated that deep down Tony Bellew was lacking in some area's'

What was a guy doing fighting at 175, who fought as a super heavyweight in the amateurs etc

Note: I think it is more of a combat culture, I could imagine some fighters take pride in making weight 'And they all have their own methods'. When Mcgregor was **** on weight before he fought Mayweather, he was elated as if he had just achieved a victory 'Mayweather made the weight casually in comparison'.

A weight bully is a guy who has a big weight variable, I.E they find it fairly easy to cut down but they also could easily operate in higher weights, they pick the lower weights because the fights are easier.

Weight drained is when they CANT easily cut the weight and are clearly debilitated by cutting down.

Depends on the situation. Someone like Canelo would be considered a weight bully, while someone like James Toney would be considered weight drained.

If the fighter is black, he's a weight bully

If the fighter is white. He's weight drained

If the fighter is Hispanic he can be both. Just depends how dark they are.

How do you figure Canelo is a weight bully?

                End of Thread

It's that simple folks. There's clearly a point where making weight gets so hard it negates the size advantage that you'd woud not have in the class above which is the reason you are fighting in the lower class.

The amount of clenbuterol found in his system was small and consistent with meat contamination. It has since become a legal amount.

Also, he did 24/7/365 VADA testing and still made the weight no problem. And he performed even better then when he was supposedly on clenbuterol.
