Boxing fans usually match May up with HOFers and ATGs.

That tells you all you need to know.

If the biggest name defines the greatest that means you only got to beat the biggest name, its not how it works which is why its all just fan BS, people have a different criteria and its not based on who is the best its based on who they like more, there is no scale of merit, so nobody can say beating such and such name beats 8 championships, or beating Hearns is better than beating 30 world champions over 20 yrs, its all so variable, bottom line Floyds resume is top notch and fitting for a ATG, its no better or worse than other ATGs, and like them Floyds resume is also a ATG resume.

I dont know of a ATG that doesnt have a great resume, greatness is not all one way.

It is subjective to a degree, but we know the difference between good fighters and great fighters and we know when great fighters face each other in their primes. Those type of wins carry more weight than beating a bunch of guys a notch below that level or not facing them in their primes. Floyd had great longevity and an excellent resume, but who knows how it would have shaken out if he had to face the likes of prime Leonard, hearns, Duran etc. If we’re talking about a body of work, fighters shouldn’t be penalized for taking a more difficult path...as fans, those are the fights we want to see.

LOL if you have to ask if she cherry picked, don't even start the thread. Floyd always gets his boys to post chit about him. Last time you fought a true boxer was 2015! Put this chit in the history threads. Stop pretending to be relevant,

I think prime vs prime is a lot rarer than people remember. Was Duran with 70+fights and 12 years of wear and tear as a pro on him in his prime when Leonard fought him? How about Hagler and Hearns, were they in their primes when Leonard fought them?

How about Morales and Barrera? Were they in their primes and at their best weights when Pacquaio fought them?

Guys are in their primes for a few years, outside of those few years there's always a case to be made they were out of their primes.

And as far as getting guys earlier in their careers when they were "green" Well you're darned if you do darned if you don't, if the public is crying for a fight and you don't make it you get called a duck. I mean Morales was coming off a loss both of the times he fought Manny and he still beat Manny the first time, then he had trouble making weight the 2nd time. Many fought Barrera in Barrera's 15th year as a pro after with more than 60 fights.

There's always a way to nitpick. Even the all time great's resumes have things you can pick on. Just look at if they were champions, if they were coming off losses or on a win streak, very few fighters get a ton of wins over prime fighters because the prime is so short. And then how do you weight if that fighter was out of his prime? Manny Pacquaio is well out of prime, doesn't that give him more points for beating Thurman? Well then why doesn't Mayweather get points for being out of prime and still beating guys like Canelo and Pacquaio?

those 3 fights happened after floyd retired you moron. you act like he did that in the middle of his career.

thurman is a legit boxer but he was coming off a long layoff and almost got stopped by josesito lopez. wouldn't be a top win for Floyd. I know it hurts.
