The OP isn’t negative or slanderous, there’s nothing wrong with objectively analysing a retired fighter. Stop being so over-protective.

Floyd’s resume was exceptional, especially in terms of name value. The only thing that devalues his resume is the lack of elite fighters in their prime.

Miguel cotto @ 154 - FAR less chinny at that weight. And had a big weight advantage to Floyd that night. Would later become middleweight champion.

Diego corrales - would later beat Joel Casamayor to become 130 world champion and TKO Castillo and become lineal 135 lb champ
Castillo - Would later become 135 world champ again
Manny pacquiao - would later defeat Keith Thurman

He resume is incredible but his only wins over elite fighters in their prime would be Cotto and also Castillo and Corrales depending on whether you consider them elite or not. It’s undoubtedly one of the better resumes in boxing history, I’m not dis*****g that whatsoever, but it definitely could have been better.

Him and Manny should have fought earlier and the fact they didn’t hurts both their resumes. Both are definitely to blame, you can’t just put all the blame on Floyd or Manny individually.

Floyd doesn’t have multiple quality wins over elite fighters in their prime like Leonard had over Hearns, Duran and Benitez. And that’s were it could have been better cause I believe Floyd would have beat a prime Pacquiao in 2010. Floyd played the game the best in the sense that he made the most money and took little damage doing so but in the process it hurt the strength of his resume. He was smart to plot his career that way- I’m not criticising him for it, that’s just the reality of his career.

As I said it’s far greater in name value than my is in context. That’s not to say it isn’t great in context because it is, but the name value definitely outweighs the context.
