Whether he takes a new approach to training as in the people around him I don't know but I see the early stages definitely be a bit of a roller coaster..

I think he’s in the right state of mind
In the sense that he wants to do it to still be in the sport and out of respect for his uncle and dad
With his ego hopefully he’ll want to succeed , he’s got all the tools ; knowledge of the sport , gym rat and owns his own gyms which makes it a lot easier

I cant see Floyd having the time it takes to properly train them, it cant be part time trainer as no fighter will respect that half hearted commitment.

Floyd has the know how forsure, but its such a time consuming thing and it takes real bonding with the pupil to get the best out of them, I cant see where Floyd can do this as well as everything else he does.

Mike is wrong here - Floyd always makes it about him, that's not a good quality in a trainer.

He does the same thing as a promotor, can't stay in the background.

He might be a good trainer. Unlike most fighters, he adapted his style to suit the decline in his physical capabilities.

He should be capable of working around the strengths and weaknesses of his fighter.

The biggest problem is his ego.

              And lots of patience
The problem is every boxing journalist knows they can multiply their view count by some large number if they can fit 'Floyd Mayweather' into the title. Floyd may entirely try and remove himself from the spotlight but journalists chasing view counts will always put his name in the headline of any article; I mean look at this headline from fighthype:

CHRIS EUBANK JR. LIGHTS UP SPARRING PARTNER AS ROY JONES JR. WATCHES; READY FOR MORTAL KOMBAT CLASH
Honestly do you think this article is going to get more views based on the name of Eubank jr or Roy Jones jr? It doesn't matter that Roy Jones jr is a decade and more past his prime, his name will get view counts, so the name Roy Jones jr will always be in the spotlight, same as Floyd Mayweather. And I guarantee if Manny Pacqiuao became a trainer the same logic would apply to him.

Peekaboo is a useless style. Only some genetic freak who is perfectly built for it and disciplined enough could maybe make it work and you will not find him in this day and age.

Floyd's style is also very difficult to pass on to others but more likely to work.

I get what your saying but that is out of anybody’s control
Where he needs to put his ego away is literally when the cameras are rolling
That’s when it counts and the spotlight should be in the fighter , not himself

Floyd has a ton of boxing knowledge but I dont know that he would be a good trainer. Also needs to be ok with working with guys with different styles, not everyone is going to fight like him.

I think it would be a good move for him, lets assume he wasnt a dumb ass and blew all his money, you still need a purpose in life, being a trainer could give him a new purpose. He shouldnt need to work for money ever again for the rest of his life but you still need a purpose.

Well he certainly has the boxing experience but it takes a lot of attributes to become a great trainer. You need a certain type of intelligence, need to be able to figure out how to get the best out of people with different personalities. We'll see how he does.
