Floyd's style is also very difficult to pass on to others but more likely to work.
The Peekaboo worked for Floyd Patterson and Jose Torres as well as Mike Tyson. There's nothing useless about it.

It does require discipline but so does boxing in general.

Exactly as I said, ONLY genetic freaks with natural talent can make that style work.

You know that Cus had tons of kids coming into his gym for many years who were all taught his useless style and never amounted to anything in boxing.

During his lifetime in the sport he only hit the jackpot 3 times yet Tyson fanboys proclaim him the GOAT trainer. Laughable.

How were Patterson and Torres genetic freaks?

Is this a serious question? Patterson is widely regarded as having the fastest hands in HW history, yes even over Clay and Tyson. He was also the youngest ever lineal HW champ.

Torres was also very gifted, a tank with explosive attacks and counters, highly decorated amateur with several records to his name in the pro's.

And then Tyson. These guys were total outliers. Peek a boo style is a gimmick. Cus is overrated.

Being a good boxer has nothing to do with being a good trainer. A good trainer needs to know how to convey the information to youngsters, to put his own ego aside and put the fighters first.

I agree with Tyson, Floyd has so much knowledge of boxing and has been around it mostly his whole life, I think if he trains some up and coming fighters, they will excel.

Useless? Floyd Patterson and Tyson used it to great effectiveness. Or do you mean very difficult to use if you don't have the attributes to use it?

The effectiveness of a style is measured by how many boxers are able to use it to great effect. Cus and his trainers trained many young fighters for many years in that style and you can count on one hand the amount of fighters who really became something with it. That's enough proof right there.

It's a very one dimensional style that requires for all the stars to align.

Was Kevin Rooney a genetic freak? He went 21-4 in his pro career.

Or do you discount that just because he never became a world champion?
