The man knows boxing and works hard at his craft. Give him a good shot at being a top trainer.

The problem is not his knowledge
He needs to remove himself from the spotlight
Make his training the spotlight in the ring
      And lots of patience

Yep, that would definitely be extremely difficult for him. Man does love too hear the sound of his own name.

Tyson should try training others in the Peekaboo style. He also has a lot of boxing knowledge he could pass on, just like Floyd does.

Both these guys can be world class trainers teaching their exceptional respective styles: They'd be TOP notch at teaching punching technique, how to implement footwork, how to do that, how to do this, why to do such and such at such & such a time, when to eat, how to not overtrain etc,.

They'd be especially good at teaching the most important part of an athlete - which would be devoping the mindset.

But as far as developing 'patience' for some kid who's not determined enough and focused enough at becoming world champion would drive Mike & Floyd up a wall!

These two hugely popular athletes are so trained at focusing on themselves for fans and media alike, that it would be almost next to impossible diverting their attention to a Chris Thomas (any random somebody) that 'says' he's "willing to put in the work" but doesnt back it up.

Heck, Teddy Atlas IS a trainer and doesnt seem to realize his job is to coach the principles of the sport without constantly broadcasting his superior act - acting like the inventor of every principle that's ever existed. Like, 'they won't get it' unless I bring my tiresome principled psycho act - because I'm popular....How did this get to be about Atlas?..lol

Agree. I think he has the tools, but until he realises the spotlight isn't for him then I can just see fallout after fallout..

Whether he takes a new approach to training as in the people around him I don't know but I see the early stages definitely be a bit of a roller coaster..
