No one is butthurt about it except people like you lol...he was a tough smart fighter...but he probably had about 20 real fights in his career from age 13-33...and he clearly lost 1 and a few others were controversial...when you fight at home your whole career and get some shady decisions, people should factor that in when evaluating 'greatness'

Well what...our whole conversation was prefaced with me saying Ward-Froch wasn't a schooling...Ward coasted at the end and made it closer than it probably should have been...anyone saying Ward-Froch was a schooling and that Ward won the first fight with Kov...I mean they are either biased/jaded, or don't know what they are looking at.

Difference between us is if Ward was full white...I would have the same opinion of him...that he was a tough smart fighter, but very protected and well-promoted and not nearly as great of a boxer as many make him out to be.

If Ward was full white...you and many other Ward 'fans' would share my opinion of him...scratch that, you would probably be even harsher...calling him a bum and a hype job and a great white hope that was pushed for yada yada yada.

I was never a Ward fan but the whining about him is pathetic.

He was clear #1 in his division then moved up to face the boogie man at LHW. His style wasn't pretty but it was effective.

Since you joined fairly recently you are probobly not aware that 'therealpugilist' doesnt even know what a jab is. he was clowned by the entire forum, i think it was in a thread about Vanes dropping Andrade.

I posted under a similar name for about a year or two before this one...but I didn't know that...he does come off as a bit of a casual, with his 'know-it-all' type approach, so I'm not surprised.

I'm not butt hurt at all. If Ward was so great, why did he bail after winning his second bout @ LHW against Kovalev? Could it be because he wanted no parts of Oleksandr Gvozdyk or better yet, Artur Beterbiev? You're probably one of those folks who clowned Golovkin for not moving up. But it's ok for Ward to duck the remaining beasts of the LHW division that he moved up to. Conquering one guy at the top the division made him very good. Beating the guys who are as good as or better than that guy would have made him great.

So no one is allowed to offer dissent on Andre Ward when his name is brought up? This is a boxing forum man lol...and there is literally no current boxing to talk about...what do you expect people to do.

Ward and his fan should be happy people are talking about him to be honest...with threads like this his name lives on, and his 3 or 4 fans get to come on here and defend him and try to recruit a few more guys for the fan club.
