Floyd did try for the fight multiple times, but I put blame on both sides. Hatton's side for wanting "more time and experience" before fighting Floyd. And on Floyd for not pushing harder for the fight. A fight like this is good for the sport and should be made even if there are costs to be paid. Floyd should have lowered his money demands or gone to England... some sort of sacrifice to show that he REALLY wanted the fight but Hatton wouldn't accept.

I agree that it would build his resume, but from Margarito's perspective why would he put Zab back on the map? Margarito can gain exposure/legitimacy fighting several opponents so I have no problem with him not giving Zab a shot right now. Let Zab win a fight before he gets another shot at a title.

no doubt i'm not saying zab should get a shot but it would help his record so would williams who alot are impressed with right now and that has alot to do with his size.

But make it clear to the public that he was willing to sacrifice and do everything necessary and Hatton wouldn't do it. Now you hear all sorts of different stories like Mayweather priced himself out; Hatton's trainers said he wasn't ready; Hatton priced himself out etc. Clear up the confusion if you're Floyd... you have plenty of money already and you want to be considered the GOAT. So say I'll take 45% of the gate and an equal purse and I'll fight you in Manchester. If it doesn't come off then it is clear who didn't want to fight. You see what I mean?

Hatton actually said in an interview (which i heard) after a fight that he needed a couple more figts before fighting Kosta..so thats what he did then he fought Kosta. I think Floyd is looking for safe fights where he makes the bigger split. Hatton aint going for the that, Atleast he established himself at 140 instead of calling out Gatti and claiming he did something special........p4p BABY!

Actually hatton showed interest in fighting Gatti, that might have been why. But if your saying Hatton was there fro Floyd then he obviously showed interest in fighting him Floyd probably didnt want the even or lesser split, cuz he is greedy and his self worth is all wack!

They werent knock downs. Mayorga was just so rough & crazy. I bet you dont think none of Forrest falls in there 2nd fights were knock downs & all them were worst then Spinks. Anyone could see that Mayorga was just coming in wild and basically just hitting them with his chest and running through them. Thats why those guys fell. He barley even hit Spinks clean. Karmazin was hitting & hurting Spinks. Mayorga's **** was just wrestling & bodying up ****. They werent from his punches.

I still disagree with you about the points. Most people think Spinks outclassed him in those fights & those 2 points still wouldnt have made it close to me. Mayorga was lucky if he won 4 rounds

Margarito did the same thing to Cintron and THAT was counted as a knockdown. if you hit a guy and he goes down, it's a knockdown. part of Spinks' strategy in those late rounds was to slip. he was taking the easy way out, and at least one, probably 2, were knockdowns by the rules. that referee jobbed Mayorga.
