    It works both ways though

British media are biased towards British fighters.

Sky or the British media would have you believe Buatsi is one of the best LHW’S in the world when he hasn’t fought anyone with a pulse.

It’s just the way it is. In AJ’s case, his popularity is/was so high that his ability probably could never match it. He’s a good fighter, not a great fighter. So I think a lot of “hardcore” fans wanted to see some sensibility rather than the likes of sky making out he’s one of the best there’s been. So they’re reluctant to give him praise and add to the hysteria.

Plus when you get about as popular as you can be, the only way is down and people will happily try to pull you down.

Joshua is the second or third best heavyweight the UK has had though and I don't think anyone seriously was comparing him to ATG's but then I don't watch the news or anything so maybe I'm wrong

Oh I know my man, damn shame too, that country is chock full of top level boxers in the making if they have the facilities. The sheer overall athleticism of the country is a testament to the peak of human physical achievement. If they spent even a fraction of the amount they had in time and resources that they do in track and field, there'd be a lot more world champions hailing from the Rastaland.

Boxing isn't as popular or promising as track and field, cricket, or football. High school kids get scholarships to university off track and field and football.

I don’t know anyone that rate Buatsi like you are claiming, yes he gets talked about as one of the prospects coming through but that is natural. Anthony Yarde had more hype pre his loss to Kovalev.

And that wasn’t just a case of BT sport or Sky hyping anyone, he was totally hyped up. And he hasn’t fought anyone prior to the Kovalev fight.

I don’t know what he is talking about, I notice Fury hardcore fans always have an issue with the way Joshua gets talked about and Fury not in the same vain. So when they have an opinion about Joshua it’s always odd with their opinion.

Fact was Joshua won a gold medal at the London olympics, that alone was what created the hype around him, he also have a very very good PR team, much like Ricky Hatton who this week was rated higher than Carl Froch in the P4P british all time list.

If we want to talk about hype then Ricky Hatton is the epitome of that for a british boxer. Khan also won silver at 17 years old and with that came a lot of attention like Joshua got.

Fury we all know the issues with him, especially when he won the HW from Wladimir, you cannot expect both boxers to be treated the same. When one watches what he says with his PR team and the other does whatever he wants anytime he wants.

The thing with Fury is he gets all salty that the mainstream British casuals didn't love him but look at his rap sheet

                    No amateur success (Olympic medals)

Signed with Hennessy who is a terrible promotor

That's my thing with Fury and his fanboys, the guy chose to play the villain, so his lack of support was on him tbh

That is some of my issue with some "Fans". They become bitter when their "King" is elevated to their sort of fan boy status. So now they would be taking shots at their "Kings" rival, who is probably getting more shine than their "King".

Am a massive Fury fan but am NOT a fangirl. I would support him in the ring, i admire his fighting style, i would pick him over Joshua in the ring anytime anyday but i have ZERO bitterness towards Joshua. We all create our own destiny.
