Does Canelo get a pass like Ward bringing down a Lineal LHW to 168?

That's better than 168! And there's no such thing as more than one rehydration clause. Unless you interpret it as a catchweight and a 10lb morning weight limit like the IBF.

The fight needs to get made assserp. But there's a real problem with the pandemic. It's a surreal state and it sucks we all have to acknowledge sports being on hold

Styles do make fights , your right
But you should look at it both ways
What about Canelo not fighting to well off his back foot
I think Canelo doesn’t get much mustard on those shots
And Beterbiev will be coming forward , that’s for sure
Beterbiev also a precise puncher who won’t waste his shots
See what I’m getting at , styles make fights

no, it's not better. is virtually the same, the fighter would be a zombie in the ring at 168 lbs or with a rehydration clause.

''168'' isn't a catchweight. Follow the thread. It's a good discussion. Don't get caught in the bait...

so what if it isn't a CW? a full division below where beterbiev fights, is worse in any case.

I enjoy watching the Gvozdyk vs Beterbiev bout. It's a classic between Euros at LHW. HOWEVER, I was VERY disappointed in Gvozdyk's accuracy in that fight. Just utter swinging and missing he looked amateur. Given the style I saw, it's almost as if Gvozdyk was too lanky for Beterbiev even though he doesn't look it. Gvozdyk looked stiff, and lacked power. I did like how Gvozdyk had a strategy to consistently jab Beterbiev to the body, and Beterbiev did get clipped in that fight that had him stagger for a couple of seconds.

NOW, here's how I gauge and why I want Canelo vs Beterbiev. Canelo HITS HARDER than Gvozdyk. Canelo's upper torso is stronger and more athletic than Gvozdyk's. In fact Canelo is like a mini Beterbiev, but faster because of style and weight. That's a good combination to beat Beterbiev.

I foresee Canelo also hitting Beterbiev's body if the theory is that Euro's don't like to be hit on the body. There might be some truth in that with their fundamentals in defense vs the west where Soviets are more head hunters than focusing on protecting their bodies.

But yeah, I think Gvozdyk's style wasn't good against Beterbiev as well as lacking power.

                Beterbiev smiles
He had a title but decided to run back down
My guessing is Beterbiev is still looking solid or shopworn
You biatch about GGG , Canelo just pulled a GGG
Gvozdyk was the best light heavyweight at the moment
He gave it his all but came up short
                Same thing in the amateurs
Looks like Canelo won’t have a dancing partner , so no better time than to call out Beterbiev
                Yeah , I know , I didn’t think so either

However, what if Canelo says 172lb? Is that better than 168?

Or, what if Canelo says 175lb, but wants at least an IBF style 10lb morning rule. Does he credit for any of these scenarios

                  OR...

Is Beterbiev “old” at 35 the way GGG was in 2017?
