I agree with Roy Jones. All Fury needs to do is continue to fight the way he is fighting and soon he can be as great as Ali...

Lol! I get it. Roy re-emphasizes he "discovered" Fury. So he has to talk him up every chance he gets. Kinda like Diana Ross discovering the Jackson 5...lol...
I wonder if Ali wouldve used the same dry hump **** tactics that Fury used to help cheat Wilder out of his title.... For a BIG TALL skillful guy that's known primarily for having exceptional "boxing skills," Fury sure didnt seem to rely on em.' He relied on placing his gut on Wilder every chance he got - topped off with palm strikes ...hmmmm.
I see Ali keeping his strategy at a distance with the use of jabs combinations and defensive footwork, maybe even using the Rope-A-Dope. NOT wrestling or resting his heavy gut weight on the smaller guy (maybe Ali would if he had that type of buffalo weight to rest) with MMA headlocks & palm strikes. Ali did "rest" on Frazier, but thats only because Frazier stayed on the inside, practically stuck to Ali like no other opponent Ali has ever faced.
The only thing Fury didn't accomplish was grappling Wilder from the rear and bodyslamming him..... Fury did more of what Foreman did to Ali - kept coming forward with a barrage of heavy punches to try an intimidate and tire out the smaller guy. George wasnt the dry hump raping type though, so Fury is in a class by himself..... Fury was scared and didn't rely much on boxing at all...Comment

I was a big Neven Pajkic fan prior to his fight with Fury being he was the first Canadian champion I watched in my era that was actually fighting & beating American journeymen like Raphael Butler, Jason Gavern & Johnny White. When he fought Fury I thought it was a BS stoppage. I never took Fury seriously before that fight but I did watch all his fights. I really started taking him seriously when he fought Martin Rogan. He fought Rogan in the southpaw stance for the entire fight. He never once got back in the orthodox stance. Sure Rogan was no world beater but he beat some good names on the domestic scene & was expected to give him a decent fight. Fury pummelled him for 5 rounds until they stopped it. Nobody saw the southpaw thing coming. That changed every future opponents's gameplan against him as they now had to take that into consideration in training camp. I have always said since that fight there is no solid gameplan to fight Fury because he is so versatile & you never know what he is going to do. His ring IQ & skillset is off the charts...Comment

Smart Boxer, Yes, Mind Like Ali, Not Even Close
Fury has fought 2 good fighters, both with easily identifiable weaknesses. Wilder put him on his back twice. Who, in 60 fights, put Ali on his back twice in the same fight? Ali fought 5X that many GREAT fighters including great punchers and great boxers, many well after Ali turned 30. Any comparison to Ali is unjustified. Ali was also extremely strong-minded. How much of an underdog was he to Liston, at 22 years old, to Foreman at 32 years old? How many people did Ali beat who would have been great champions in any other era? I'm afraid Fury has got to show more than a few flashy moves, no doubt copied from Ali, to be considered on anywhere near an equal plane with Ali. Don't hold your breath.Comment

He will win a few more before he's gone and fury will be best of era of he does what people think he can against josh.
Being best of era is all he can doComment

Are you calling Roy Jones a sore loser? Wtf are you talking about? Wilder is the one who is a delusional sore loser coming up with excuse after excuse for why he got decimated instead of accepting the loss like a man. Unbelievable.Comment

I watch all of Fury's fights and yeah I remember being surprised when he fought southpaw against Rogan, who at the time was a good opponent, especially one to be experimenting with. The pajkic stoppage was a good one though. Fury looked like knocking him down with every shot he was landing at that stage and Pajkic was just wobbling around the ring, he wasn't bad though and I never understood why he only had 1 fight after that? Pajkic vs Price back then would have been interesting.Last edited by joe strong; 04-18-2020, 12:28 PM.Comment
