That wouldve been a stoppage win for Canelo guaranteed.

Now the PWill that beat Margarito..different story. But the PWill that wouldve fought Canelo?? Canelo wins that 9/10 times
maybe people just didnt follow boxing back then? it was about 8 years ago now. they probably heard a story about how canelo was signed to fight paul williams and never really looked into it much. NO EXCUSE FOR IGNORANCE! williams was done

Why didn't Williams fight Clottey? I remember during all this talk of nobody wanting to fight him at 147 Clottey was calling him out saying he would. Seems like that would of been an easy put together bout

These 4 all have good resumes but not a single one faced Paul:

        Floyd

        Mosley

        Cotto

        manny

Definitely one the most avoided opponents in modern times
How did Pacquiao duck him? By the time Pac jumped up two weights to fight Oscar, Williams was already campaigning between 154 and 160.

Mayweather could have only realistically fought him in 2007 but was obviously looking to take bigger fights with De La Hoya and Hatton. Williams just wasn’t a big enough name back in 2007.

Mosley and Cotto were fighting each other in 07. Then Williams lost to Quintana won the title back then moved up to 154+.
By the time Williams had reclaimed the title Cotto had lost to Margarito and Mosley was fighting Mayorga and was in line to face Margarito next.

I didn’t really think he was ducked tbh. I think Margarito may have rejected a rematch at some point. I think he was unlucky not get a marquee fight at 147 but there was never an instance of a fighter blatantly ducking him IMO.

Alvarez would have whooped Paul. Too much skill.

manny or Cotto vs Paul would be a sight to see. Short arm guys

vs that fab 4 I think Paul gets a win or two. Tall Paul's best bets being manny and Cotto.

Different timeline, Williams wasn’t even in these names view when they were active or on their way out.
