Solid assessment of Fat Dan. I remember Fat Dan from the Usenet or whatever bs ass boxing internet days when he was some local sports guy who just used to dig boxing & report on it seemingly as a hobby more than career so I respect Fat Dan for how far he's come & I suspect he's smart & resourceful enough to land on his feet but ultimately he's not a guy who's vibrating on the same frequency as me with his personality.
So ESPN fired Fatty Dan???

Lol yea he's a off putting mfer to look at that's for sure.
I predict a podcast is in his future. He can have donut crumbs on his face & be in mustard stained boxers on a podcast & no one will give many fooks. The legit boxing people podcast space is still pretty open & hes among the most mainstream media guys in the sport if not #1.
Could see him behind a desk for DAZN or PBC at some level due to his media mainstreamness, but his obesity & lack of a likeability angle make that less likely imo. If he was a fun likeable kinda fat guy I think his odds would be better. Fat Dan is one of those slightly grumpy & dougebaggy fat guy types who looks like he always smells like he didn't clean his ass well the last time he sh^t when you encounter him in enclosed spaces.Comment

Does Stephen A Smith know anything about any sport? I just heard an anecdote from an English bloke who met him. He told this guy who was an international rugby player all about rugby. When the man questioned his credentials on the topic, Stephen jumped straight to "and you'd know?", to which the man schooled him and told him to **** off. Sounds like he thinks he's an expert on anything he isn't. Dunning Kruger effect personified.Comment

Hate to hear about anybody losing their job right now.
Dan's Friday boxing chats used to be one of the highlights of my week (my work week, definitely!). Say what you want about him, but he's a million times better than Steve Kim and will be missed at ESPN.Comment

Stephen A. Smith literally doesn't know shit about boxing. No substance, just superficial analysis given with his loud and arrogant personality.
He should stick to the NBA.
Kellerman at least has a deep knowledge of boxing history.
Yeah, Steve Kim sucks for sure. For all his faults Dan Rafael was better.Comment
