Undeserved path to a title, but Ive seen fighters facing worse fighters for vacant titles and he actually called out lomachenko.
2) Haney was injured after his last fight in september and was sidelined for at least 6 months. WBC stripped him and demoted him to champion in recess or something similar.
Im not sure why the WBC were so strict with Haney when a lot of WBC champions got a lot of leeway in the past (looking at chavez jr.).
Fortuna Vs Campbell were supposed to fight for the vacant title. Fight didnt happen because of corona. No one fought for the title while haney was injured, so there is no real reason for him being stripped.
Green Karma Positive: Excellent post with all truth. There is not debate on this one.

He's going after Lopez to unify the division.

They called him up months ago and said, "Uh Devin... we're just going to... give you this world title..."
Because they're complete clowns making all these bull**** types of belts and think they're doing some service to the boxing world. They're idiots.

You guys are clowns.

Second, the WBC made him the mandatory so it doesn't matter if you or I or anybody else wanted to see Lomachenko fight him or not. At that point you either face him or drop the title...and we saw what happened.
Haney is the rightful owner of the belt under those circumstances.

This stuff will never fly in any other sport. What a joke. I hope he is proud of beating absolutely no one for that belt.
Shame on boxing for this.
Imagine if a team can just complain about not being champion, and then the commissioner hands them the championship title? That would be comedy. Only in boxing can you see comedy like this. 100% a paper champ, has beaten no one of note, beat no one for the belt. An actual fraud right here.
