i am all for boxers getting top dollar. They are the ones who train hard and fight hard while risking injury, death and brain damage. If haymon gets them more money then good for him on a job well done. If a boxer wants to thank haymon first before god or anyone else that is their right to do so. Haymon gets them more money and other than glory money is what they are fighting for. If a boxer makes more money working with haymon than anyone else why shouldn't they work with him and why shouldn't they say thanks.

the only reasons haymon is “polarising” is because:

1. He’s african-american
2. He’s the most powerful figure in american boxing.
3. Fighters who fight under his banner tend to be loyal to him
4. He has become a symbol of the black conscious movement in the usa which prizes education and economic empowerment

No, EVERYTHING is about race and non blacks prove it to us every single solitary day. Some people think that al haymons way of doing business prevents the best fights from being made. Other people disagree. None of that has anything to do with race.

i think it’s the other way round. Showtime were forced to pay wilder something that they couldn’t recoup against breazeale due to the dazn offer, they had to take a rain check on the ortiz fight, rank are careful what they offer boxers who isn’t in their stable, but they allow their boxers to go fight somewhere else if the offer is great for the individual (which is what an fan should want).

Matchroom are overpaying boxers because they have dazn money (mikey garcia) as an example, but haymon isn’t forcing anyone to pay those boxers. He does cost his fighters money though by letting reject amazing deal for sub standard ones.

I like that Haymon helps fighters with income outside the sport. I think I read that he helps them with real estate and rental properties.

And there is plenty of blame to go around for the lack of good fights. I mean, Terence Crawford will soon be out of his prime, and he has yet to fight any of the top welterweights. His promoter, Top Rank, should share blame for that.

which are hof that actually started with haymon? Floyd and pac started with top rank. They were hof before they started working with haymon. None of the others have a hof legacy. There is no question that haymon has good fighters. The question is why they don't carve out hof careers. What is your answer?
