Should the HW division be broken down into divisions?

Not at all. I went about it wrong but I'm actually for less divisons.
105-115
116-129
130-147
147-168
169-190
190-220
221-250
251+open.
That's back to 8 divisions but with heavies now more regulated and weigh-ins on fight night. Today's athletes are bigger, faster and stronger. Somebody mentioned Primo Carnera, lol. That guy fought about 90 years ago.
Just an idea I had after hearing about a fighter who died in the ring. I think a lot of the guys who have died in a boxing match struggled to make weight. The dehydration weakens these guys, making blows to the head even more dangerous.Comment

Fu ck David and Goliath. There is no intrigue when a one guy is 40lbs bigger. That's just ******.We are talking about the heavyweight division in this thread. Not lightweights. I also think there should only be the original 8 weight classes if u wanna break it down that far which leaves more room . The david vs goliath aspect has applied to the heavyweight division since the beginning . Men were just smaller by stature . Why take away that intrigue from boxings premiere weight division ?? To each their own but I say why fix something that has brought great intrigue to the division since the beginning . If boxers are in this for safety they are in the wrong sport . Men in their 170s were fighting carnera back in the day an even bigger disparity. They put the cruiser division to fix this , no more measures are needed IMO .Comment

Most people want to watch the biggest guys compete. If we make another category then no one would watch the HW as much as they would with the super HW. This is why cruiserweight suffers as much, and the reason why most of the top name at cruiser always end up moving into the HW division.Comment

Who actually said that? There is nothing really unfair about a 147 guy fighting a 148 guy. It's just the concept of title fights within a weightclass dictates that you have to come in under a certain weight limit.
Up and coming fighters often fight at random weights and also often fight against guys who might be heavier or lighter than them.Comment
