Mikey is 32 years old now, them 135lbs days are gone.. 140 would be ideal.. Mikey was highly inactive in his peak prime years when he should have been at 135, he got that grown short man Mexican weight on him now lol

Garcia even said before fighting Vargas that he was too small for 147 and now his team is saying this. He needs to get a clue, whether he has to beg, borrow, or steal one. He brings more money to other 140 pound champions than they do to each other so I doubt they will all turn him down. He needs to accept the fact that he will not win a title in a 5th division and give up that ghost and stay at 140.

hes Chasing pac because of size title and payday it’s the trifecta for him. I think he’s to small and 140 is Ramirez territory for now. 135 is lomo which is a good match up but I doubt he can make that comfortably now.
        Sticky situation

As usual, a lot of ridiculous comments here. But I did see a few good ones! Some of you pay attention! First off.... Mikey is no fitness rat. He's not a guy that melts 50 pounds of and rehydrate the weight back. So 135 is out of the question. He's a timing fighter. A power fighter with an elite 1-2 punch. I won't argue against 140 being his best spot. It clearly is. But the man's lost one fight. Let him keep doing what he's doing and see how it plays out. In fact, the people that say he hasn't looked great at 147, what do you expect? Think he's gonna just mow big men down? No. He's gotta win the same way he beat Vargas. And there's NOTHING wrong with that. Quit writing somebody off that has no reason to get written off!

To add to my previous comment.... the smart thing to do, would be for Hearn to push for the Mikey vs Pac fight to be the opening fight when boxing kicks back off. THAT would be the best way to make it a big seller!

No you're just not good enough and stepped up in quality and got found out. Pacquiaos never been a true welterweight and still beat near on everyone. And is this clown just gonna stay at welter so he can use the 'oh well I'm actually not at my best weight' excuse after every bad performance?

He looks like he has plenty to lose. He’s flabby all around. Not to mention for his last weigh in you could tell he dehydrated to make weight. It looks as if he’s eating whatever he wants. He looks like he has no diet restrictions at all. He’s 5’6” and he doesn’t have a lot of muscle maybe under the fat. Just feel like he should absolutely be able to make 135

His biggest mistake was fighting errol spence jr and taking a long layoff.

I saw a video of mikey garcia saying he doesn't have to fight anymore because he makes something like 80 thousand a month off real estate investments and rent fees. So maybe this why he doesn't care and wants the fifth division title so bad for legacy.

Yes, I mean being a 5 division champ is just not that big of deal right? Less than 10 in history have done it.

yeah he is going for legacy thats a first ballot hall of fame accomplishment right there.

He already said he don't need to fight anymore and that is why he went up to challenge spence to try to dare to be great for legacy, other fighters they rely on their undefeated records and boxing

Mikey is content with making money off his real estate investments
