My initial take is this. Mike Tyson was an unbeatable monster in his prime. After witnessing his destruction of Spinks first hand, I really realized this.
In the 90's, when I finally got a hold of old footage of Frazier in the 90's, I really didn't see how he compared to Mike. He was smaller, slower and less powerful... And I thought Mike had a better chin.
When I take that into consideration, I see a lot of mistakes Big George would make. He would punch wide winging shots with both hands down. To me, I would see Prime Mike, simply catching and shooting and catching George flush on the chin, time after time.
I don't know how many flush shots Big George can take, but i do know Ron Lyle had him down and out several times in the fight.
For me, Tyson would take it. He was a bigger, stronger, faster and more powerful version of Frazier.
Head to head, I even think Prime Mike would've beat Ali... Why not? Frazier did it.

You got Norton, Shavers, Foreman, Frazier, oh lawd.

George even said Cooney punched harder than Frazier. I'm pretty sure Cooney didn't punch like TysonLast edited by Chollo Vista; 03-28-2020, 03:28 PM.

If you're going to judge George post-Ali with Lyle, then do it post-Douglas for Tyson.

As for Ali vs Tyson, if we talking prime for prime, esp the Ali from the Liston, no way on God's green earth do Tyson beat that version if Ali. Frazier beat Ali but u forget to mention that wan't even prime Ali, that was post prison Ali. That 60's version has too much character, too much skill, too much movement...I see Mike just getting frustrated and outbox and Ali might even walk him into something late.
I appreciate the insight of people who lived and witnessed it during those times.

Tyson is no stranger to bigger, longer heavyweights, but he struggled vs the elite level. Foreman is elite. I think they were both afraid of each other. They could’ve fought in the 90’s.
A big part of Tyson’s game was intimidation and while Foreman says he was scared of Tyson, I think Tyson would’ve been just as scared, if not more, than Foreman was. Foreman also said he was scared of Frazier and look how that went? Foreman took fear and used it in the ring.
I think Foreman answered adversity better than Tyson did.

Tyson never took out bona fide peak heavyweight greats like Frazier, Norton, but we know Foreman did. Holmes was great, but certainly on the slide.
As for the women, Tyson himself said he was an animal with women at that age regardless of whether it be Japan.

Does anyone know how these fighter profiles were created?
Is it a remote possibility that fighters were created on a rating system based off how they performed in real life?
