Can someone tell me what makes Saunders a great opponent for canelo?

He beat ryder, eubank and Andy lee each by 1round. People saying he rises to quality of his opponent, but what opponent of quality has he fought? I don't get how eubank is a laughing stock but Saunders who beats him on a SD (many thought eubank won) is world class opponent with the style to give Canelo fits. He couldn't even keep eubank off him, who won 5 of the last 6 rounds. How exactly is that the style to give Canelo fits? Eubank couldn't land a glove on shot George groves but he was walking Saunders down lol. He's also beaten noone at 168 either and he's been fighting bums full stop last few years. And on a side note why is canelo not under any pressure to rematch Jacobs?canelo didn't win that fight , boxingscene had it 114 114 as did I. Yet people keep crying about ggg not giving Jacobs a rematch

Firstly, it’s a known fact in the UK he was about 50% fit when he beat Eubank, which is why he schooled him for half the fight and then faded. And Anyway, that fight shouldn’t really be a measuring stick, or the Ryder fight. Both of them fights were when all the fighters were pretty green, fighting for British title’s. It’d be like bringing up when Canelo got put on ***** street by Cotto’s bum brother in the first round. They’re just fights early in their careers.

Why miss out the Lemieux fight? He was a genuine top 10 at MW, a world class fighter and he give him one of the biggest schoolings you might ever see.

Andy Lee was in good form, he beat Korobov who was young and undefeated. Even the older faded version arguably beat Charlo not long ago. Also, that was really Saunders first fight at world level. He dropped Lee twice. The scorecards were closer than the reality of the fight.

At the end of the day, everyone has to step up. There was a point where any top level fighter hadn’t fought at the top level yet. So what made them a credible opponent before they did? Now he has his chance to show it too.

Saunders has beat everyone put in front of him. Held belts at 2 weights and is obviously skilled. He showed in the Lemieux fight that he can be levels above a top 10 opponent. So he’s obviously operating at a very good level. He’s as credible an opponent as you’ll find at 160/168 right now. Who had GGG really fought before he fought Jacobs or Canelo? His resume was no better than BJS right now, and i’m a GGG fan but that’s fact. BJS resume is probably better than Jacob’s resume before he fought Canelo. All he had was a win over Quillen and a loss to GGG.

Then his style..well on paper it’s everything that’s been all wrong for Canelo in the past. You can say Canelo has improved, but he hasn’t fought a tricky southpaw since Lara, so how can we be sure that style isn’t his kryptonite even now?

I think Saunders has the skill set to cause real problems for Canelo.

Imo BJS best days are past him. This fight should have took place at 160.

          But BJS ducked unification

Well, BJS signed to fight GGG twice.

He was meant to fight GGG at Expo 17, he even showed the messages he had with Tom Loeffler asking when they will sent their side of the contract back, but GGG’s team never sent their side back and decided not to fight and waited for the Canelo fight.

BJS never ducked anything. Warren just never delivered big fights for him.
