Jones and Hopkins were better but he was much younger and closer to his prime when he fought them. Make them all 28 years old and they both beat him in my opinion. He was a great fighter just not as great as many UK fans make him out to be.

Calzaghe is underrated, imo. He had a very unusual style that posed a lot of people a lot of problems, which probably comes from the fact that he was trained by his dad who had no real boxing training himself. He got by on sheer physical gifts and heart alone.

Whilst I would consider him one of the greats already, I often wonder just how great he could have really been had he had a "real" boxing trainer from the start.

Well according to Floyd and Wilder fans...he was undefeated so he has to be the best ever also.

                  What impressed you?

Draw with Williams, draw with McCallum, lost to Tiberi

Arguably lost to Sosa and very arguably lost to Johnson.

One good win against Nunn, a fight he was losing badly before the KO.

I wish he'd comeback, fight a few club fighters and get to 51-0 so we can have a bunch of silly trollish threads about him being TBE.

Ward is a 50/50 where I give Ward a slight edge.

                      Roy would have beat him.

                      A younger Hopkins beats him.
I agree. But a younger Hopkins would have waited and blown many rounds while Joe outworks him. Racist Hopkins loses to an Italian again.
