he was pretty good but was never tested to the extent that we could call him an atg. good fighter and worthy of respect

I hated watching him fight but I consider him a contemporary great.

I loved it when he punked Hopkins.

            What grade U in?

The results were calzaghe beat a Roy Jones that was 3-3 in his last 6 fights including being knocked out twice in those 3 losses.

            That win holds no weight

He was a winner, he always found a way to win. I don't think he's the #1 SMW (I think Roy Jones is) but he's near the top, one of the ATG at SMW.

I'll always be grateful to Joe for slapping up Lacy. One of the greatest beat downs I ever witnessed.

Zaryu sums him up perfectly; he always found a way to win.

I always rated Joe very highly but I do think the win over Lacy was overrated. Jeff was a 15 fight novice with short arms and slow feet; he was never going to beat Joe.

The wins over Woodhall and Reid have gone under the radar but they were both very good fighters, as was Kessler.

I thought he lost narrowly to Hopkins but showed what he was about in the closing stages with a great effort.

I'd have to take Roy in his prime to beat Joe. It's worth noting that Joe didn't exactly go chasing after him when he was in his pomp, saying that Jones "had earned the right to pick and choose".

Is a shame we never got to Calzaghe v Froch but I think that Joe was about business by that stage. For what it's worth, I think he beats Froch. I'd probably take him over Benn and Collins too.

Andre Ward... that's a tough one. Like Joe, Andre always found a way.
I lean towards Calzaghe but it's a very close call.
