He is too small and considers Arthur too dangerous.
Why didn't canelo stay at 175 to fight beterbiev?

I like Canelo. The way he fought in the second GGG fight has earned my respect. Between the buildup and how it played it out he was obviously willing to go out on his shield in that fight. What bothers me about Canelo is I feel like he wants to be great but he plays the game in a way that makes people feel like its a illusion. I think he's talented enough that he doesn’t have to. Yea he might take some Ls but it would of been something to see him go a different route after the second GGG fight. He could of fought Smith and Plant then moved up for Kovalev and afterwards Beterbiev. Win or lose to Beterbiev he could of then moved down to fight Saunders and Benevidez. He has the star power to fight whoever he pleases and I would like to see him push his limits. I want to pray that we get to see at least watch him fight Smith,Benevidez, and Beterbiev.Comment

I mentioned GGG because OP sucks off GGG and goes out of his way to slam Canelo who has done 100 times more in his career then GGG and he is only 29...The hate Canelo gets is ****** and ridiculous EXPECIALLY when you look at the fighters the haters big up..Canel is THE CHAMP AT 160 YET HE KEEPS CHALLENGING HIMSELFThe question was about Canelo, Conelo lover and GGG hater. Why do you drag GGG into it.GGG didn't move up because he didn't outgrow the weight class as Canelo did. Why is staying at one weight some kind of mortal sin. It was good enough for great champions Monzon, Hagler, Pryor, Zale etc. etc, Canelo targeted a weak old champion in Kovalev with no intention of ever fighting Bivol or Beterbiev and Canelo cannot make 168 anymore. Why won't Canelo give a champion he beat in his backyard by a single pint a rematch????? If Canelo offers GGG a rematch at 168 he will move to 168 and fight him in a heartbeat. Meanwhile GGG is a champion of the world at 160 so why should he move to 168?Comment

Preach. Nobody seems to care about dominating a division or defending title numerous times anymore. He would smoke canelo. Too big, strong and tough on inside. Todays fans like catchweights, weight draining, and moving up using their a side status to handicap the weakest link in division.Comment

He fought both in the city they live in and in Jacobs’ case, the city he is from.
Golovkin was ridiculed for wanting to fight Saunders yet Canelo is praised for taking him on on the back of a terrible performance. Golovkin is overrated but Canelo isn’t this god that people portray. He was very fortunate to sc**** two iffy decisions against a washed up Golovkin who’s trash anyway.Comment

Because he didn't want to lose? He went up to buy the wbo belt from kovalev and dumped it without facing anyone with a pulse at 175. Now he's facing a guy who hasn't looked good in years, doesn't have power, and sure as hell won't win it on the cards.Comment
