Wasted money on Canelos contract ?
    Canelo brings in subscribers.
Not his fault they overpayed GGG based on their hopes of a Canelo trilogy.

In an ideal world, the first fight would have happened on Cinco De Mayo in 2016 (I would say 2015 but Canelo fought Cotto later that year so can't fault him for that)

GGG destroyed Dominic Wade and Canelo nearly decapitated Amir Khan that year, and they should have been facing each other instead. Golovkin would have been a year younger (this was before he looked vulnerable against Kell Brook) and the trilogy would have been over with a long time ago.
So basically what yre sayg is that Canelo should hv fought triple bum when he was still green at 24 yrs old. wow. floyd did that and people make him great bcuz of it but its just a green cherry pickd. triple bum tried to do the same and canelo sd ok but at 155. triple gay then ran away. Canelo was the underdog in both fights yet u wantd a green 24 canelo too. wow. 7-1 odds wasnt enough u wantd 25-1 like most triple flop opponents.

      • So it seems the Canelo vs. Saunders fight is official for May 2nd. Saw a headline on ESPN2 about it. I assume Canelo will fight Golovkin in September.

350 million dollars worth of subscriptions. Plus expenses promoting and broadcasting the fight. Now they are stuck paying for some of Canelo's opponents. Plus hidden expenses we aren't aware of. Why do you think they are so eager to put on the Golovkin fight.

          A. Their investment isn't panning out and..
          B. Their only hope of recouping some of their money is to get Canelo to fight Golovkin again.

Canelo fans have probably maxed out their contribution to buys. It's the opponents now that are going to recruit new subscribers.

Add in the 100 plus million they are committed to with Golovkin. It's all adds up to huge money. They aren't going to be eager to have Golovkin fight someone that's a threat to the third fight.

              So after all that.
Are you saying DAZN woulda been better off had they not signed Canelo ?

Ok, this is gonna be fun:

                1. Canelo was 27 when he fought Golovkin in 2017. I said that ideally he would have faced him a year (or two earlier). That would make him 26 (or 25), not 24.

                2. Still green you say? That's funny because he fought Mayweather and edged Erislandy Lara at 23 and beat Miguel Cotto soon after turning 25. Doesn't sound green to me.

                3. Also, Canelo had just unified titles at 154 and was Mayweather's top challenger according to Ring Magazine. Check the 2012 and 2013 ratings for yourself. Was he at his peak yet? No, but again, doesn't sound green to me.

                3. 155 was BS because Canelo was clearly big enough to take the fight at 160. Especially considering that he has now fought as high as 175.

It's fine if you just don't like GGG. I try to look at things objectively myself.

a stay busy fight...kinda like Amir Khan and JCC Jr. You still cant comprehend that, can you?! BUT you will defend it. Stay fanboi'ing....its a good look on you. And dont get it twisted, i could care less about Golo, but you crazy fanbois call him a bum but your idol went life n death with him for 24 rounds...with a draw and a md win. HUGE difference between them 2 and Fury/Wilder, kid.

Yeah that's exactly what I'm saying because that's how DAZN is acting like. It's great for the opponents of Canelo because they are getting huge money. For the price of just paying Canelo they could have two unification fights plus a good undercard.

GGG vs Ward (2011-2017) never happened.
                      Mayweather vs Pacquiao (2009-2015).
                      Crawford vs Spence (2017-continuing)
                      Wilder vs AJ flop-still happening?

                      WAR CANELO
GGG and Ward was never going to happen. Ward needed to keep his name alive while he was dealing with his lawsuit.

May vs Pac - that was on Mayweather, should have never opened his mouth and then have to retract was he said when he got sued for defamation (or do people remember he had TO SETTLE and apologize to Pacquiao? ) That is what stopped the fight from happening for years.

Crawford v Spence ? I got no answer for that and it may still happen.

Wilder v AJ LOLOL no.... Wilder needs to relearn how to box first at this point.
