Fury VS AJ should be in the U.S.

Fair points.Yep. Fury/AJ will very likely do significantly less PPV buys in the US than Fury/Wilder 2 did (and its not like 800k is earth shattering in the first place). Fury might be hot in the US right now but if theres not a big name American in the mix I think this renewed US interest in the division is going to be short lived. Put that fight in the UK you could seriously be looking at 2 million domestic buys + its on PPV in plenty of other places in Europe while being on at a relatively convenient time.
How much do the UK PPVs go for by the way?Comment

I get where you're going with that lol. Pretty cheap. $25 roughly, But then in some other Euro nations it was around $60. It obviously varies significantly from place to place.
Milking more money out of a fight does not automatically make it bigger or more important to boxing fans and the general public anyway. The only people who should be hung up on how much money is being generated by fights are the promoters.Comment

The way he turned into a violent American heavyweight from the opening bell won over a lot of fans. Singing American Pie couldn’t have hurt. Loads of people adopted him as their own that night. The fight would work in the states.Comment

No AJ's last fight was £25 which is about $32.5 at over 1.5 mill UK buys worked out as roughly $48,750,000. Not bad for fighting Ruiz.
Sticking this in Vegas is going to destroy UK buys as it'll be at 5am. I'd be suprised if it does good PPV numbers in the US to recover this because they don't even have a horse in the race.
They could hike the price at wembley to average the ticket price at £200 - £300 and generate a higher gate ($23.4 mil -$35.1 mil) than the record that was just set in vegas by Wilder and Fury ($16.9 mil).
Even Saudi is better as it won't damage the largest source of PPV income and would probably offer the largest site fee considering rumours got up to the 80 mil mark for AJ Ruiz rematch so it wouldn't be surprising if they actually got that level of money for a much more significant fight.
Also there's no way this can be veiwed as a "domestic bout" it for all of the WORLD titles FFS.Comment

Yeah fair point, I forgot that the price was slightly increased.
Agreed. Spence/Crawford would be much more of a "domestic" fight than a UK based AJ/Fury fight in terms of international interest lol. The only people that are going to be less inclined to watch AJ/Fury if it doesnt take place in America, are Americans themselves. Its America is the world syndrome pretty much.Comment

haha no my dude, I was genuinely curious how much they cost. No I think many of you have made some pretty valid points that has me rethinking this.I get where you're going with that lol. Sadly I do expect the fight to happen in the UK. It sucks having to tune in at 4pm for a fight when we're accustomed to fight nights in prime time. We're spoiled like that.
But this is their fight and their moment. It's theirs. Let them have it. That's all there is to it really.Comment
