For people saying taking money from fighters...

DAZN makes money over time... and I have no problems paying.
a PPV is a one time money grab with ZERO responsibility for the promoters to put on good show.

If a streaming service keeps providing ****ty fights, people will not sign up again.

The whole point of streaming is they want you to sign up, pay for it, and forget about it.

A PPV is something they need to keep on selling.

In either case, DAZN/Matchroom fighters seem to be making more than PBC. =P Despite the much lower prices.

wilder is not some long reigning champion or anything like that because i dont rate his resume outside of ortiz and fury. of course it would be interesting to see how wilder would do against aj and vice versa, but you're right there, aj didnt beat him...but only because wilder did everything to avoid joshua and whyte.
now say, wilder had battered whyte, we could then say for sure that wilder belongs at that level and isnt just a hypejob (given the fact he boxed nobodies before). There was dominic brezeale, ill give you that..but we just saw charles martin batter washington.
it was easier for fury to jump in and take the fight because wilder/pbc wouldnt do business with matchroom.
Even after Fury beating wilder, we just dont know what level wilder was at to truely gauge how Fury does against AJ.
So it's all apples and oranges really.

also, no, if Fury beats aj, i wont mind.
that's like when holyfield beat tyson, did americans choose sides?
the affiliation with aj or eddie hearn is because of the intense level of hate they get from the US and other idiots, that makes me support them more esp because i know the hate is unwarranted.
Tyson, however is a good guy. if he's the best of this era, good for him.

        here watch these

"Joshua would have done this, Joshua would have done that"..... Joshua hasn't though has he?

Joshua did not beat a 10 year reigning champion in his backyard did he?

Joshua did not beat a 5 year reigning champion in America did he?

Joshua will get his turn after Fury beats Wilder, in Vegas, again. Joshua can take care of Pulev..... (which is a tough fight by the by)

When the fight is on at a normal hour i will go down the local pub or into a sports bar in town. Great nights. Sometimes next door pays for a super fight and i go round there. But for every fight on at ****** hours in the US i just go to bed and when i wake up i download the fight from a warez site. Super quality too.

I like the fact that fighters get paid.

But a $25m guarantee for each fighter after cherry picking their way through the previous 14 months doesn't sit right with me. It's too much money for playing it safe until the gamble and if some businessmen have to lose out along the way then maybe they should offer a better product (the best v the best and stacked cards) or lower the damn price.

The fans dictate how much money is in the sport, we will pay for a worthy product and business model if the value is there.

Without a Canelo or Floyd it was foolish arrogance to guarantee Wilder and Fury almost 60M combined. Historically you need at least 1 proven PPV draw in a fight to hit 1M buys. But because the purse and how much money they poured in to promote it they needed over 1.1M to break even. For example Canelo did better then this against Chavez and Chavez was paid just 6M. Now Canelo got 20-30M but still together almost half what Wilder/Fury cost. Despite Canelo and Chavez both being bigger draws and both headlined PPVs that drew more then either Wilder or Fury before their fight.

HBO spent pennies compared to what both ESPN and FOX spent promoting this fight. These number are worse then what Floyd and Pacquiao were putting up in their prime in fights at the height of PPV era where they made 20-30M and were paying B side fighters 2-3M.

The PPV model is broke fights with lesser established stars in fights that now cost drastically more to make but generate less PPVs and no profit at a time where everyday it's easier to pirate? lol This is azzz backwards it's like the music industry during the height of illegally downloading said I know how we combat this. Instead of adapting to digital music, streaming services, and lower production and advertising costs nope we are going to take less famous artists pay them double-triple to make a worse album then increase the price of 1 CD from $10 to $30. That will work and stop customers running away from old CD media and stop downloading for free LMAO

If you only had quality fights on PPV or fairly priced PPV fights, i believe they would do better overall - promotion not withstanding. But it's going to be tough to justify a ppv price at $80 and expect it to sell in the millions.
Fans know when they are being ripped off and $80 for a fight with neither guy a proven PPV star and a shyt undercard is a tough sell no matter how much money you spend to bombard fans with the fight. They lost money because of arrogance.

Its a shame fight of this magnitude still lost money.
AJ is probably the cause of all these. If he had not offered wilder $15m , wilder would still be earning around $1.5/2mil and this fight would have been a success and made profit.
