Does this mean Luis Ortiz is not that great?

It doesn't say anything about Ortiz.
It just tells you how clueless those saying Ortiz is a better boxer were. Ortiz is a good boxer (though getting older). However, Fury would not have been the Fury that beat Wilder if he were the size of Ortiz or Ruiz. Part of the tactics was to use his range to keep Wilder off and use his size and weight to bully Wilder around with WWE techniques. Kind of what Holyfield did to Tyson...manhandled him and put him off his comfort zone, took away his game plan, put him under mental and physical pressure.Comment

Ortiz was never close to being great..... he could have been with the right fights when he was younger.
Never proven to change his style, never proven his stamina in tough fights..... no good wins on his record.
Ortiz was decent but we will never know if he could have been great. There is no evidence he was and he didn't fight any one worth a damn where we could judge him.Comment

Its just impossible to tell how good Ortiz is because he hasnt faced anyone of note other than Wilder for 4-5 years now. We can kind of get an idea of how AJ/Parker/Povetkin/Whyte/ruiz/Hunter/Rivas fit in to the division because theres been multiple fights involving those guys, but Ortiz hasnt been in the picture with any of them, hes fought Wilder and thats it.Comment

Ortiz/Jennings was a pick ‘em fight. I remember the posts on this forum the predictions were pretty evenly split. I think Ortiz is a fantastic boxer just couldn’t handle Wilder’s crazy power. Ortiz won every round in both fights that he didn’t go down. I’d love Ortiz/Ruiz. The fight to make!Comment
