Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury's Father Would Like To See Him Retire, Visit White House

John Fury, the father for WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, would like to see his son retire from the sport. Fury will pulled off a seventh round stoppage of Deontay Wilder at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday night, after they had fought to a controversial twelve round split draw in December 2018.

It would be a shame if he retired now. He should stick to his plan and attempt to unify the titles against AJ first. If he does that and retires he would instantly catapult himself to ATG status.

I dont care if you pulled an eye from its socket once. Tyson's the one fighting making history who are you to tell him to stop just because you wasn't successful and was too busy playing the hard man in pubs growing up. ***ing spunker.

I don't think Fury has ever talked about needing titles.

Hard to believe everything he says but I think he'd care more about being recognised as the best of his era than he would about Undisputed.

I have a feeling that Wilder is brainwashed enough to decline that invite anyways

he should fight Joshua next. if he feels like retiring after becoming undisputed champion, good on him.

Yeah i would agree but either way he has to take out Joshua for that recognition and at the same time he gets undisputed. This fight has to be made it makes sense for everyone involved.

Retiring before the Joshua fight would be highly suspect.

This is no surprise I called this before the fight - Fury will either retire after Wilder or he will hope to beat AJ once and then retire to avoid the rematch. Fury has never defended a belt - because it will mean fighting decent fighters every fight.

John Fury has been saying for ages how easy it would be for Tyson to beat AJ and now he wants him to retire. Hmmm...makes sense...
