AJ doesn't need to put on weight for Fury to in fight with him. AJ is plenty strong enough as he is. Extra weight and more muscle would only slow him down. I can't think of a way AJ can fight that makes me favor him over Fury. Fury just seems to all around good for AJ going by Fury's last fight. AJ is a good puncher with both hands and has some fast combinations. I think he should use his fast hard combinations to try to KO Fury at mid range but I still favor Fury because of his great defense, better chin, smarter and showing a new attacking style that really works.

I guess AJ would have to try and get as physical as possible very early. But really, Fury at his best is so good at controlling distance that it’s not really going to be easy to do. And even if AJ does that, his stamina has never been the best, nevermind getting physical with a bigger man. It’s one thing jogging around the ring for 12 rounds at your own pace v Ruiz, that doesn’t drain you.

I don’t think power plays a huge part in the fight, in the sense i think both have enough power to hurt each other. AJ might punch harder, but Fury has enough power to hurt AJ, so it’s not really a big deal either way.

My feeling has always been if AJ cannot impose himself within a round or two against Fury, then Fury will wipe the floor with him. And i don’t see AJ really being able to do that. Fury’s ring IQ is too high too let it really happen.

Also, after seeing AJ spit his gumshield out and accept defeat, i’m not sure he’s prepared to go the depths Fury is in the ring.

Ultimately, AJ is way too predictable to beat Fury. Fury will see everything AJ is doing. Too flat footed and orthodox. “Straight up and down, no special effects”. It’s not even like AJ can outbox Fury from the outside and run around like he did v the midget Ruiz.

Realistically? I dont know. Joshua has a better variety of punches than Wilder and hes probably harder to bully on the inside, but I expect Fury would play the Fury/Wilder 1 or Fury/Wlad game and just use his jab, feints and movement to win a wide UD, and I cant see much Joshua could offer to combat that.

What's he gonna do when a 6ft9 270 pound Fury is next to him and threatening to do him serious harm?

I think that Fury would mentally destroy him before the fight even started,

              Don't underestimate AJ

Fury can fight you anyway he likes, does not make him unbeatable though. There is no question that Fury is fantastic. He also can fight every minute of every round. When he was in trouble because of his cut face, he was not primed for the KO, and could not get rid of his opponent, but he did win every round with his accurate punching.

thing is, Fury can't do both, and he seems devoted to smashing these days. Considering this from AJ's perspective, AJ can probably hit harder than Fury. AJ also learned how a boxer is supposed to get in shape, when he fought Ruiz the second time. Enough of the body building. It might have caused wilder problems as well...Fury is an exception, he made it work... But Joshua wants to come in as light as he can. He wants to know he can go 15 rounds! Otherwise he could lose rounds that he takes off.

As far as his strategy he has to keep his combos straight, and go towards Fury after he finishes... Fury has a tendency to loop his shots. This works great as a counter to a straight combination, especially with Fury's reach... To negate this, one has to go forward so they are inside the arc of the counter punch. AJ has to also use that jab, Hit Fury anywhere with it like he did Ruiz. When Fury comes in hard with his jab he is open for a left hook.

When Fury puts his weight on you it tires people out. AJ needs to either sprawl out, or just relax and not waste energy pushing Fury off.

AJ could win this by boxing very well and putting together some power shots. But I think Fury has most of the advantages.

Joshua’s much more athletic than Wilder. He’s fast, has power, and can actually box smart. Maybe besides a moment from Povetkin Joshua has had his way with boxing everyone until he gets them ready to go. But that issue of his might also be gone now since that Ruiz fight. That said his chin isn’t the best, but Fury wouldn’t stop him with one punch. I’m probably leaning to Fury at the moment due to his sheer size ontop of the skills, but it’d be competitive while it lasted.

Joshua's best hope of winning is Fury's mindset.

Fury always sees himself as the underdog, and he was against Wlad and Wilder. Against AJ he'll be going in as the firm favourite, could that work against him?

Yea, I don't think Joshua fully has his confidence back. His eyes were HUGE the entire night against Ruiz. Nervous energy and overly cautious. I think Fury zaps what's left of Joshua's confidence within the first 3 rounds. After that, Joshua will look like a dear in headlights until he gets knocked out.
