The punch landed on his ear which is totally legal, it was actually the punch that burst his eardrum (which caused problems with his equilibrium).

Wilder has been protected from any serious competition for obvious reasons, Fury and AJ will happen with no problems.

Won't happen till next year though, AJ has madatories Pulev and Usyk before he can unify.
We will probably see Fury vs Wilder 3 with the winner getting AJ in late 2021.
