This is the best fight in my opinion. On paper, Saunders is a lot of the things that are all wrong for Canelo, if BJS is at his best, which he should be.

His style could make it very difficult to win a decision v Canelo in Vegas though, but i wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a debatable decision.

Anyway, i hope this gets done. We’ll see..

I also thought that Canelo would rather "select" BJS... but the Gypsy is tricky and hard to hit... let's see...

I agree with most of what you write, except I don't know if BJS will be at his best. Its almost like a roll of the dice as to whether or not he shows up.

Regardless, as you implied: at his best he loses a debatable decision in Vegas; anything less than that he loses a clear cut decision or probably a TKO. In either case Canelo should be a big favorite to take him out.

Not buying this story!! Sounds like Amir Khan style marketing to me..

Why would Canelo even entertain the idea?!

Didn't know that many people overrate Saunders.

He's another one of those weird boxers like Calzaghe who don't look particularly good at boxing but manage to win every damn fight no matter who it is.

That's why I give Saunders a shot at beating Canelo. He's just an odd boxer who wins despite never looking supremely skilled.

Will be a tricky fight for Canelo probably. Though on paper, Canelo should put him away comfortably. But somehow, I don't think it will go down that way.

Saunders is a shrewd customer indeed...

BJS needs drugs to run all night like he did vs Lemieux. He cant even make 160 without drugs.

At 160, I liked Billy's chances (Vegas judging notwithstanding).
He hasn't looked quite the same at 168, but here's hoping.

Not sure if Canelo can stop him. Saunders is tough, never been dropped, barely even looked buzzed. Canelo couldn’t stop Jacobs, who has looked far more vulnerable in his career than Saunders.

But as you said, it depends which Saunders turns up, but i think he will be at his best and motivated. I dunno, i’ve always felt this is a real competitive fight in terms of style, maybe not the most exciting.

My prediction for this fight has always basically been Canelo wins by debatable robbery and i stand by it now.

Stylistically, BJS is the trickiest fight Canelo has had since Lara and a lot of people thought Lara may have won. We can say Canelo has improved, but there’s no evidence to show he can deal with someone like that even now, he hasn’t really fought anyone with that kind of style since then.

BJS is like Fury in the sense there’s no point in looking at form or recent performances. I think he will raise his game.
